Serious, most people want to get paid to play, record, write, whatever. I just want to have a good time doing it. But I'm sure we don't want to get into a big discussion about money. Timmy J

Mixer Preamp Vs Dedicated 'low end' pres

What about the DMP3 over the preamps on a Behringer MX9000 ? I imagine it would be an improvment worth investing in. TimmY J

    Click tracks

I find the best way to play "to the click" or "with the click" is to try not and listen to it. And if you can't hear it, then you know your on beat. But if you can hear it, then your likely playing off time. ...But don't ignore it completely :D

    Headphone Amp

Cudmasters, I'm currently using a Behringer PowerPlay Pro XL HA4700. And yes, as most of us already know that Behringer gear tends to be pretty bad, but for a headphone amp this unit is great. It has 4 headphone channels, each one you can plug in up to 2 headphones each (so. 8 users in...

No Problem. I just tried the Blue Bird on a female vocalist last night and worked out really well. What preamp are you using with it? Timmy J

Blue Bluebird VS. GT66 for male vocals

I can't say anything for the GT66 but the Bluebird is a very nice Mic for it's price. I have used it on Male vocals with great success. Tried it on a deep voiced Italian singer and it sounded great! Timmy J

    Cracked Neck Repair

Yes, usually it is fixable. How bad a shape is the neck in? Funny Story actually, a friend of mine had recently purchased a Gibson Les Paul Studio brand new for $1500 or so, and three weeks after he got it, some people were getting it on on his couch and knocked his Gibson over and cracked the...

    SRV's recording set up...

As far as guitar tone goes, I think he used Fender Texas special pickups on his guitar. I have recently put Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups on my strat and I get a VERY similar tone on my guitar through my Marshall TSL100 JCM2000 head through a Traynor 15" Bass cab. I have yet to try it on my...

    B.L.U.E. The Ball for drums

Don't forget, it claims to be "the worlds first phantom powered dynamic microphone" so make sure your turn on your phantom power. Has anybody tried it on the kick? I've used the AKG D112 with much better results than the BLUE Ball, probalby because the Blue ball drops off at around 100Hz...

    B.L.U.E. The Ball for drums

Have you tried using the Blue as a kick drum mic? I have one of them, but I haven't been able to get a decent sound from it with the kick drum. Timmy J

    MOTU 896 & Analog Outs

MOFO Pro, Yes, I would definatly agree, unfortunately the setup that we have at our studio and due to our budget restraints (yes, they are very tight to not even be able to afford a $100 (or even less) balanced patch bay. My main concern is damaning the audio interface. Do you think it would...

    BEHRINGER B2030A Truth

I know of a friend that uses them as monitors for his Hip-Hop based surround-sound studio. He has 5 of them for his surround sound setup. He did say that they were a bit bass heavy and that when he played his mixes on other stereo's the low's weren't as present. But apart from that, he loves...

    MOTU 896 & Analog Outs

On the back of my MOTU 896 is 8 individual XLR analog outputs switchable at both +4dbu & -10dbu. My question is, can I connect XLR unbalanced lines (Pin 1 & 3 ground, Pin 2 HOT) to my unbalanced patch bay (Tip is hot, Ring and Sleeve are ground)? I've already emailed the MOTU guys, but still...
