Can anyone point me toward links of songs with percussion used as the main "drum" section rather than a kit or digital/programmed drums? I'm wanting to do a really natural non-programmed song with electric guitars, bass, & vocals, but instead of a kit, I'd like to use just simple percussion...

.... If it's like my line 6 modeller head, you'd also want to consider using two rhythm sounds; maybe 2 different "amps" either for the L and R sides, or to double the L and R sides. Yes, the combinations are endless and you'll go crazy before it's all said and done. And the unfortunate part...

I guess what I meant was that I was never really able to acheive any "real" dynamics with my boss/roland drum machine, only volume changes, which didn't sound very dynamic, just fake. A compressor-effect seems to add more realism to my ears. But yeah, I don't mean squash the heck out of it...
