    Many songs with just percussion?

thanks! yeah, I'm not having fun with drum machines anymore. I don't mind programming them, but I want to sit back and say: "I played everything on this recording."

    Many songs with just percussion?

Can anyone point me toward links of songs with percussion used as the main "drum" section rather than a kit or digital/programmed drums? I'm wanting to do a really natural non-programmed song with electric guitars, bass, & vocals, but instead of a kit, I'd like to use just simple percussion...

    I need some help

... I just got one too, and I see what you're talking about. I'm going to need to do the same thing with my drums. You'd like to "import" a drum file into the MR-8. That would be nice, but you'd need to download that software, so forget that for now until you get the basics down. Your best...

    V-Amp tones/patches/setting (Death Metal)

.... If it's like my line 6 modeller head, you'd also want to consider using two rhythm sounds; maybe 2 different "amps" either for the L and R sides, or to double the L and R sides. Yes, the combinations are endless and you'll go crazy before it's all said and done. And the unfortunate part...

    I'm going external, cover me.

... Thanks for all the comments, tips, and such. Yeah, the porn probably wasn't the best idear in the world, but in a way I'm glad because now I can get back to worrying about just playing good "onto tape" and not how the waveforms look and how many effects I can try and add. One less...

    Fakin' it with Dr. Rhythm

I guess what I meant was that I was never really able to acheive any "real" dynamics with my boss/roland drum machine, only volume changes, which didn't sound very dynamic, just fake. A compressor-effect seems to add more realism to my ears. But yeah, I don't mean squash the heck out of it...

    I'm going external, cover me.

I've had it with my stupid computer. From cool edit to audacity to cubase, I once again have an issue where my computer is acting up, resulting in me not being able to record with the ease I need. The only useful things my home computer is good for are porn and video games. So, I'm finally...

    Fakin' it with Dr. Rhythm

... When I used to use a dr550, I'd sit down with my guitar unplugged and run through the song with it. I found that I'd naturally play some choruses or verses faster each time, and I just bumped them up until they matched my playing. I had thought perhaps I was crazy and that I shouldn't...

    punkish metal clip

... thanks for the comments. 'tis true that I quickly recorded the guitars and bass. I didn't compress the bass at all, and you called it! Nice ears. I'll be tightening that right up. The 6-string guitars were run direct through a Line 6 Flextone I head, and I came out the speaker out into...

    punkish metal clip

Well I hate to re-post a tune, but I had this in the drum section since I used beta monkey and no one chimed in :( . Just lookin' from some feedback from you fine folks. It's kind of a test with the beta monkey loops, but if something is jumping out at you that sounds silly or like crap...
