If you do go the laptop way, make sure you have/get a firewire external hard drive, and track directly onto it. Saves CPU power, and lets you easily transport all your tracks.
Howdy folks!
Saturday I am going to be tracking my band for the last time. We are losing the guitar player to flight school. We always said we wanted to make something we were proud of, so we are going to take saturday to track all our tunes. Now I am going to lay out an extensive...
I did some recordings with my Oktava MK319, I am starting to not like how "tinny" i tends to sound. I am running into my Firepod pre's, in a closet full of clothes. Yes I am ghetto, I realize this. But I wonder what needs to change:
1. The Mic? I used to like how dark it sounded, but now...
Yes, your firepod firewire ports ar eprobably bad. Happened to me six weeks into it, and it is a well documented flaw in an otherwise great machine. You will need to send it in for repairs. Should be under warranty, if not, i think the fix is like 30 bucks. Expect a 4-6 week turnaround...
I got 2 new plugs for my system, but am not sure how to use them effectively.
One is a nyquist EQ. WTF? It look slike a bunch of waves that I can drag around. Is this a good plug? How does it work?
The other is an Oberheim autotune. I can sort of figure it out, but I dont know what...
I tried to do that after a fun Iraq incident and this is what I found. EQ both lows and highs out totally, use a ring modulator at about 14K , and Q mos tthe bass out. take all that and resample it with some plate verb and short delay
Pretty damn close.
there should be a control on the compressor for some type of Make-up gain. Also, its would be easier if you posted finished, or semi finished work , since those other effects are all subject to your opinion.
