Foam Acoustic Wall Treatment... I really need help!

Just wanted to add that Alton Everest, pretty much the authority on studio acoustics, says rigid fiberglass is every bit as good, if not better than, the high priced foam except when it comes to impressing clients.

    please critique, 1st submission

Wow, this is great! Thanks for the quick responses. I've never hung out here much due to the long download times, but I've recently started downloading while surfing so I hope to be here more. Kormaniac: Several people have told me Bowie. Is it the voice? The arrangement? The drummer has a...

    M-Audio Delta 1010 at Sweetwater for $469

The 1010 doesn't have preamps and I'm nearly positive the 44 doesn't either. The 1010 converters have a pretty good reputation, especially for the price. Pretty sure the 44 converters are of lower(how much lower?could you tell anyway) quality.

    M-Audio Delta 1010 at Sweetwater for $469

Isn't the dual 1010 setup only a problem under the new Windows; I thought it worked under 98se and others.

    Delta drivers dissapeared again...

What happens when they dissappear? Are you recording? Only at bootup...? every now and then, when I boot up, I get that message that goes something like "new hardware found...search for drivers?" and I just hit "cancel". I then restart and the problem's gone. It's a minor annoyance I've never...

    Cheaper Neoprene

http://www.southernrubber.com/gasketmaterials.htm They have solid and "sponge" neoprene. The solid is available in several durometers and thicknesses from 1/16" to 1" thick, but when I went, they didn't have 1/2" in anything less than 60 durometer. The solid comes in 36" and 48" wide, sold by...

    Fabric wall covering

John, I'm curious about how big these frames usually are. You're stapling them together on the wall to ensure correct fit, then finishing on a bench, correct? To cover one wall with frames small enough to build on a bench, I assume you have to make several frames? What type of cloth do you like?

    Hand/wrist pain

One of the biggest causes of WRIST problems is playing with a bent wrist, which alot of people do all the time but especially with a low slung guitar and especially when barre chording. FWIW, I had classic CTS symptoms- your description seems to be more like repetitive stress on your thumb...

lynx one vs. delta 1010 and echo layla. your opinions please

LynxTwo was reviewed in June's EQ magazine. Apparently the LynxOne is similar but w/o 192 kHz and some as yet unused expansion capabilities. Lynx seems to have some impressive sounding video syncing stuff I don't really understand or care about. The reviewer went on about how great the...

roland td6 and Cakewalk midi - Help

My guess would be either: midi "soft thru" is on. If you have both the midi in and out hooked up to your computer, when cakewalk plays back, it will go to the td6 in and right back out again back to cakewalk. From here it could be doing something funny at cakewalk's midi in or going right back...

    Wierd message on startup- virus?

Jeez, I've been using Trend PC-cillan for a while and it automaticly updates at least every couple weeks. I can't believe this particular virus is on their list and it still got through. I ran a scan of my entire computer and it found nothing. Is it possible the virus has been "killed" and...

    Wierd message on startup- virus?

During startup, just after the pretty graphics logo "Windows 98" comes up, a black screen with something like "preparing to load Windows 9x" in DOS type print comes up, which I guess is normal. But further down the screen it says "C:\ HLLC.COOLGAME" and the next line says"bad command or file...

M AUDIO sucks! Not my words btw..

Pfft!...amateur. ;) Hey Slack, this may seem like a stupid question, but why not just use ASIO? Does n-track, sonar, et. al. not use ASIO? Is WDM better for some reason? Cool page btw. Another stupid question: Why not just stay w/ 98se? Why should someone solely concerned with recording...

Short Delay when listening to tracking through Logic Audio 5.0

Try going to Audio>Audio Hardware and Drivers and then to whatever tab your drivers are under. Then uncheck the "software monitoring" checkbox. Bring your buffer settings up to higher numbers, try setting it as high as it gets, and hopefully the crackling should go away.

How do you get your songs copyrighted?

The following is #58 on the copywrite office's website FAQ, ...and no, I'm not joking: "How do I protect my sighting of Elvis? Copyright law does not protect sightings. How do you get your songs copyrighted?

Legal Disclaimer: I don't know shit. If there's a registered copy- printed out lyrics, chords, etc. or a recording- of your song, whether it's part of a compilation or on it's own, there's no way anyone could ever beat you in court if a dispute arises. The song is there, dated and authorized...
