    Need some fresh ears

LOL. Yep, it's a C over an Eb. I think I pull-off to a B, and then hammer on the C and slide to Eb. It sounds odd to me at times, but other times I kind of like it. I dunno, maybe I should learn how to play the bass. :D The only thing I changed on the cymbals was a slight bump to the...

    Need some fresh ears

Thanks Greg. Yeah, the last version I posted, I changed the bass eq. I'm going to change it back. The Kick has very little processing done to it, so I'm not sure I follow that comment. Me and the drummer LOVE the kick sound. I think the vocals are too effected, so I'll probably back it off...

    Need some fresh ears

Thanks to all that listened and commented! I added the echo I was using on the guitar swells to the vox. Made a few more tweaks. Un-muted the main guitar that was accidentally muted (ooops). Let me know what ya'll think. Thanks again! Oh yeah, and the bass isn't de-tuned - it's a 5 string...

    Acoustic Based Rock Song

Overall I think it sounds pretty good. There is definitely a lacking in the low-mids. I'm guessing that it's a monitoring problem. It makes the song sound a bit thin, and is contributing to the harshness of the cymbals. Also, I'd bring the vox a bit more forward, as well as the backing vox...

    Need some fresh ears

Thanks! LOL. I'm the bassist. I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I don't know squat about music theory, but play with two guys who are pretty well versed. We've discussed that note many times, and came to the conclusion that it was OK. I'd be curious to hear what other people think...

    Need some fresh ears

This is a first round mix. Only problem is I have to have it and two others finished tomorrow and I'm running out of time. Any comments/critiques welcome. Thanks! Updated link - (12-27-09) http://www.lightningmp3.com/upload/anchor4.mp3 :D

    SX projects in Cubase 5

The big 3 for me were Variaudio, way more flexible routing options, and dragging plugins. Tons of small changes too. Variaudio is damn near worth the upgrade by itself.

    Presonus HP4 Headphone Amp

Four channels of headphones with individual volume control. Balanced ins and outs for monitors as well as a separate volume control and mute. Mono button. Great shape. Still have the original box. I'm on the good guys list. Tons of feedback on eBay and heatware.com. Known everywhere as...

    SX projects in Cubase 5

Possibly a few. DX plugins are no longer supported, but most have VST's available. Also, you can always still open it in SX3 - as I said, Steinberg changed it's license policy so that the 5 license allows you to run all previous versions. 5 is a HUGE step up from SX3 BTW. :)

    Please edumacate me about PT

Yeah, whatever you call the full version. I have RME RayDAT/HDSP 9652's hooked up to Apogee converters. I just want to use them if possible. Can I just buy an Accel card? Sorry, I am completely Pro Tools illiterate. Loved Beat Detective though.

    Please edumacate me about PT

OK, after a trip up to London Bridge Studios, I have a keen interest to learn Pro Tools. What I need to know is - a) what's the cheapest way to be able to edit drums with Beat Detective (no recording/mixing necessary) (I'm thinking Mbox Micro and PT LE) b) what's the cheapest way to get a full...

    SX projects in Cubase 5

Cubase 5 will open any previous versions project files. SX1-Cubase 4.5. Cubase LE. Nuendo 1-3 I believe as well. I have opened dozens of SX3 projects with 5. Huge step up IMHO, and very worth the upgrade price.

    4 UAD-1's in a magma expansion chasis

oops - fixed the link. Also, in case somebody needs to know what this is - it's a rack mountable expansion chassis for a computer. It has 7 PCI slots and it connects to one of the PCI slots on your computer - essentially giving you an extra 6 PCI slots.
