Can a major Logic Pro upgrade be expected from 7 soon?

I JUST got logic 7.2 universal, and with all the people I talked to, no one hinted at a major upgrade. Then again, the news seemed pretty dead (minus all the universal crap) As this is my first experience with Logic but not with recording software, I've noticed a lot of little things they...

    Any logic users?

Uh oh, don't give me bad news about that! With no interface, it seems to be fine, and I'd like to keep the ease of use that I've experienced so far. I'm actaully really surprised at how different a mac is from a PC. From an outside veiw, they look almost the same, but for us, we see them as...

    Any logic users?

ez, that's the setup I use on my PC, and DAMN it's amazing. It runs into that Soundcraft digital mixer thing, and I've not had a single complaint with sound quality or ease of use (minus getting automation to work on the board, but whatever.) I forgot to mention the Mac is a laptop, or else I...

    Any logic users?

Hey all, I finally decided to add a mac system running Logic (I got Pro, with edu. discount it was only 500) to my current DAW, which is a WinXP PC running 32 channels into Nuendo. As I'm new to the whole Mac thing, anyone have any suggestions for getting things to run smoothly? I'm so used to...

Anybody have a Tama Superstar recorded?

Drum kits are for the drummer, not for the audience, remember that :D More expensive kits are easier to play than the cheap ones, hold their tuning better, etc. It's amazing where instruments have gone!

How can i extend notes out, using low freq, to create some harmonic ambience?

IR reverb anyone? You could make the impulse a cello playing a low note, and use that as a reverb to extend the low end maybe. But then your reverb would sound like the cello, and I don't know if that's what you want

You CAN mix and match heads and cabs correct?

Yes, as long as the ohms match (4/8/16)

I think Metal is becoming monotonous.

I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say it's something in the air. There seems to be an insane amount of hostility and unhappiness in the world, and in turn that affects people who strive to be truly creative. It's leading to musicians only going to familiar territory, ie what they grew up on, and...

    Off topic

I don't know much about them, but they do make a "rectifier" style amp for $700 which this speed-metal kid I know seems to swear by. Hey, tell us how it sounds, maybe I'll check it out next time I'm at a GC

    re:printer

Wow, you're even spamming the Google Abuse Forum. What a tool. At least I can find out where you are located. Maybe I'll visit, and refill your PC with viruses?

    Now I'm a believer

Heh, it's always fun when people finally "hear the light" so to speak! Just be careful; If you don't keep it in check, you'll find yourself buying everything under the sun to see what kinds of crazy sounds you can make :D Fender Twins are pretty awesome amps, so wise move on your part. If...

    Any Ebow Fanatics?

Ebows are pretty sweet in the right situation. Try layering 8-10 tracks of just guitar and form harmonies with the notes. It's an amazing thing, because it's pure energy from input to output. Massive octaves are pretty cool too, and make sure to pan all the tracks.

"Leaving the Oasis"- Hard Rock baby!

Hey all! Leaving The Oasis This is a repost of a song some people critiqued a long time ago, and I finally fixed the things that were wrong (I hope!). I'm posting this again because I feel my mixing has greatly improved over the past 6 months and would like to hear where I can improve. For...

    The Musician's Friend Catalog thread

I thought the Gibson Gothic IIs looked interesting, mainly because I wouldn't have to install the EMG pickups myself (I'm lazy, what can I say?). But really, I wish MF would have more upscale guitars, instead of 20 pages of epiphones and squiers, followed by Marshall MG amps and peavey Blazers.

    Purpose of bass traps?

Oh my sweet jesus... I didn't know there was a next thread button until you said that, and I've been browsing this site since 2002 or so!

    Getting rid of unwanted audio

Does it print the effects when you archive? That would add a fair bit of space, and the unused tracks most likely bloat the filesize a fair amount (if you're like me and have 800 takes per track)

    Purpose of bass traps?

You set the bass trap out in the early evening, and if you're in a high volume bass area, by morning you should have one in the trap. I caught my warwick this way.

    Should I get a Boss GT-6

I'd say go with the GT6. Having individual pedals is great, but only if you're willing to put up with the problems that come with it. You'll get noise, go through 9volt batteries like crazy, and spend a bit more than on a GT6. The GT6 is great since it allows so much variation in tone. It's...
