I just bought a "new" AT4033CL" on ebay. The box and everything else says AT4033CL but printed on the mic is 4033a. Seems shady to me. Can you tell me just what this difference is? Thanks.

I was wondering if the Beyerdynamic m series mics are consider true ribbon mics. I could use any user input on these.I plan on buying a riboon mic in the near future, I don't want to go too cheap, these are in my price range. Do you know of ant other ribbon mics in the 400-500 dollar range ?

Lots of good info everyone, thank you so much. I'm going to start looking more seriously into my options for 24bit . I'd imagine the easiest upgrade is my soundcard but I have other things to weigh,but that's another thread. I'm sure you'll herar from me again.
