Music Maker is made by the same company (Magix) who makes Samplitude & Sequoia. I'm a loyal Samplitude 11 Pro user, and I think it rocks. But Music Maker is targeted more at the consumer market vs. the professional market, and it's geared more toward loop-based productions rather than...
Bump. I noticed there's been a huge price drop on these at some major online retailers. They're now around $199 each, which is less than half of their former selling price.
All kits have been sold and mailed. Thanks guys, and hope you enjoy the mod and the post-modded mics. I'd be curious to hear some before and after clips.
The best instructions that I've found are here:
Gus' MXL 603s mod - Pictures/Part numbers -thanks Flatpicker
It's even got some before and after pictures that make it dead simple.
Trust me, I have no intention of going into the mic modding business. Just ordered a few extras when I ordered the caps for my own mics. But if you find anyone willing to pay me $300 to perform a 15-minute mod on a $50 mic, I might be persuaded!
Yes, I'm the seller. I ordered some to mod my own 603 pair, and ordered a few extras while I was at it. I know these caps are cheap, but for folks who are unsure of which exact parts to get, or for those who don't want to pay more for shipping than for the caps themselves, I thought I'd make...
Magix Music Studio was basically a lite version of Samplitude, which is Magix's professional recording software. I used it for many years and upgraded to various versions (MS10, MS12, MS14) until finally upgrading to Samplitude 11 Pro. To me, Music Studio was always one of the best-kept secrets...
I've used the DirectX Vocal Remover plugin from Analog X with limited success. I'm sure there are some VST vocal remover plugins, too. Try a Google search for "VST Vocal Remover".
Bump - I've got another one of these for sale:
8 Channel Modified Hosa Snake - use w/ Insert Jacks 8' - eBay (item 320648507178 end time Jan-31-11 11:43:00 PST)
The kind of headphone amp you buy will also depend on your needs--will everyone share the same mix, and you only need separate volume controls, or might you need a differnet mix in different phones? If you need differnet mixes, you'll need a headphone amp with an Aux input for each channel...
If you want to go the FREE route (everyone loves free!), just get a dual-RCA Male to Stereo Mini Headphone Plug cable (the kind that used to always come with portable CD players). Connect the RCA plugs to the Tape/2-Track Outputs on your mixing board and the mini plug to the stereo Line In on...
I recorded the first half of my band's first CD using MS2005, and it was great. About midways through the project, I upgraded to MS10, and recorded the rest of the CD and mixed it in that. I still think Music Studio is great for home recordings and small project studios. And you can buy it for...
Isn't the demo download only for Samplitude 11, and not Samplitude 11 Pro? Also, as you stated, it's only a trial. The Samplitude 11 Silver download that I was referring to isn't a trial. You simply have to sign up for a Magix account & register it online, and it functions indefinitely. It's got...
Here in the U.S., there's also Samplitude 11 Producer. In Europe, there's Samplitude Music Studio 16 (MS16) instead. These are slightly different applications, with MS16 being more oriented toward the consumer market, and Producer being geared more for the "pro-sumer" market. I've been using...
Ok, I thought of a couple more: the Behringer ECM8000. Good omni mic for room measurements, acoustic guitar, piano, drum overheads, etc. Also, the Behringer XM8500 isn't a bad vocal mic for live performances. Haven't tried them for recording though.
