I am thinking of getting either the 1820 or 1820M as an all in one solution. Could someone comment on the quality of the mic pre's .
Also, does the DSP effects applies to recording as well, or just for playback ? thanks
I am thinking of getting the 1820M to be the all in one solution . Mic Pre, Compressor, etc ...
Why does the 1820 cost much less than the 1820M, could someone shed some light ?
I quoted this to remind me to do this mod. If the original poster could elaborate a bit more on this for me, particularly about the capacitor, I would appreciate that very much. Thanks
I just bought a 319. I went to GC to look for a 2500, but it's not easy to find anymore. They have tons of 319 left.
So far it's an OK mic. $50+ tax, not so bad. Can't return it.
I wonder how better is the MKL2500. I might be able to find one after they repair the defective one (power supply).

According to this thread, GC used to sell these 319's for $50 in 2003. One guy even got it for $35 bucks.
Anyway, I call one store, they said they have 4 of these 319 left, for $69.
The MKL2500 they can order for me from...
I need a good weighted keyboard, with the flexibility of soft synth. And I think the KX88 is probably the least expensive option, buying used on EBAY. What do you think ?
I was looking into this, I saw that quite a few people swap the tube of the MXL V69ME with $12 Groove 12AT7 Tube and they are very happy with the tremendous improvement.
Some said the tubes in NTK is already good, unless you swap with very expensive NOS tubes.
I was thinking of buying the EMU 0404 . Because I want to use the DSP Effects, Compression, Reverb, mainly, for singing. Also, I wanted to get a midi controller such as the Yamaha KX88 to play with soft synth such as the Emulator X.
Could someone comment on this ? Thanks.
I think Guitar Center ran out of this MKL2500. So I am going to bid on for one on Ebay. Hopefully I can get it at around $100.
Edit: I was told by GC in SF that they will have more in stock next week. Not sure if that's true.
I have an Art MP StudioV3, and I read that you could swap the tube for a JJ ECC803s, the swap the op-am and the capacitors, and you will get a nice respected little amp. That's what I will do eventually, step by step.
The V3 option is cool.
It' built pretty rugged.
I don't have much...
