    n-track and dither

A little trouble following your link larrye, I'm not sure if the link points to recording.org or goes to 24-96.net. Which of these is the thread you're heading toward?: http://www.recording.org/cgi-local/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=20;t=000327 http://www.24-96.net/dither/ Very, very...

What's a VST or DirectX plugin, and...

I should have been more clear. I know what a plug-in is, but I don't know the different categories of plug-ins. Are VST plug-ins spin-offs from Steinberg's format and DirectX plug-ins a proprietary design from another software house? Can n-Track use both types equally well? Thanks again.

What's a VST or DirectX plugin, and...

how does n-Track take advantage of either of them? I really need an education here. Somehow I thought n-Track was only compatible with DirectX. Am I wrong? Thanks for your help!

Paid the 69, some effects are still locked

Suprise to me. I was about to register and get the full blown version today. I didn't realize that some features would still be compromised. What's involved in getting all aspects to run freely? Is there a secondary registration or site to uncover the costs of all the plugins? Thanks!

    sharpening my skates...

Yea, just finished building my PC and now I have time to skate again... this time with my 4 year-old. Wish I started skating at his age. Now I'm looking for an upgrade too, new blades so I can keep up in three years!

How do I physically move these tracks around?

Yep, Slack, that was it! Thank you. It was a simple tool, but I'm a simple sort! I just wanted to click and drag the whole track and that is the correct tool to do it. The details of n-Track's functions are not all clearly described in the manual. Great forum here.

Did U Buy Or Make Your Computer?

Built it - cost me under $1100. Turn-key like this would have been $2200 easy.

How do I physically move these tracks around?

At one point I had to right click to move a track up or down. Then, in another instance I was just clicking and dragging them around in their entirety. I preferred the latter. Where is the control for these features and how can I set it up to work either way? Thanks!

    Register or Buy?

Same Q here. I'm about to buy also. I figured that "Register" meant paying for the 16bit version that you first download as a shareware version so you can get the link to the plug-ins. I thought "Buy" was the way to upgrade and get the download link for the full-featured 24bit version. Ya?

    Where is n-Track distributed?

I guess you've got it gordone. I'm not too swift. Somehow, I didn't think the .exe would carry forth across multiple systems. And I figured it was piracy or some version thereof. I did download the manual. I'll drop the disk interest. Thanks for the info, all.

    Where is n-Track distributed?

I wouldn't say I need it badly, but it would be nice. Let's say Flavio is one day gone? I'd hate to lose the program and my investment (meager as it may be.) Even with a $25 game, I still get a disc.

    Where is n-Track distributed?

I know I can get it online from Flavio and one or two retailers, but is it available in many more places than that? I'm thinking I'd like the disc at the same time. Do big box dealers ever have it? Thanks!

What does Full Duplex mean? Will n-Track and the m-Audio Audiophile 2496 work together in Full Duplex mode? Thanks!

    Yamaha CDRW Disc Stamping

??? Good question. I just know that the few I've received with stick ons have been problemmatic...stuck in the drive (more than just an isolated incident) or the label shredded, and the like.. Perhaps the glue may smear in high heat. I also understand that disc mass can be affected...

    Yamaha CDRW Disc Stamping

Got one The Yamaha CRW-F1 is an amazingly accurate and smooth drive. It is professional quality. The disc T@2 is an image burned on the burn side not the top side. It's a nice way to sign your disc, but does not allow top side labeling. By the way, I'd stay away from stick-on labels...

Which sound card do you prefer with n-Track?

Thanks, Slackmaster I had a feeling the Audiophile would suit my needs. I'm importing 24bit/44.1 .wav files from my Tascam 788 and want to process in n-Track and output for PC monitoring. Sounds like the program would work well in this arrangement. So, Bozeman, by the way? My mom and...

Which sound card do you prefer with n-Track?

I've been waiting to buy a sound card until I narrow my software down. I'm now fairly heart-set on n-Track and would like to choose a card that is going to take full advantage of it. I'll be multitracking primarily, not likely more than 4 tracks simultaneously for the first year or so, but...

    p4/asus combo

SATA means serial ATA and is used to describe two-way hard drive communication rather than the old standard one-way. SATA is definately in its infancy, but a promising hard drive introducion has been made by Seagate, makers of the ultra quiet Barracuda. The Barracuda V in SATA form will...
