    Event 20/20bas

    I saw an ad for 20/20bas that were used as a demo model and have a ding in the cabinet, the guy said sonically they are perfect. $500 They supposedly come with the full Event warranty....I'm sure they were used hard, but that's what they're made for right? any advice on buying demoed monitors...

    versatile mic setup?

    i know in some other posts you stated that you like a large diaphragm with only three mics on the drums (i may try placing a SM57 on the snare as well)...do you think the MC012's would still work well if i don't mic the toms individually? i was thinking of the ATM25 for the kick.... thanks for...

    VS 890

    musicians friend has it for $1599...i would expect some of the stores might drop the price of the vs880ex...sam ash has the vs 880ex for$1299 i think...as far as i know you must buy the roland burner....it's a bit expensive (~$600) compared to other burners...

    Hard Disk Free for all!

    the yamaha aw4416cdhd (the one with the burner) is selling for $3299 from musicians friend....looks like an incredible machine..it can record up to 16 tracks simultaneously if you buy the adapter(extra $$)...looks great but a bit out of my price range right now...i'll still need to get other...

    I think you can only record 4 simultaneous tracks with the Tascam....other than that, it looks as if they continue the Portastudio "tradtion".

    Roland 1880 vs Akai DPS-16

    I am also trying to decide between the DPS16 and the VS880ex or VS890. I know you said the DPS16 does not have as many effects, does it have "the essentials?" Will the DPS16 record directly to my PC's CDRW? If so that would save me the expense of having to buy another burner...the Roland...
