Thanks people :) Just ordered it, but it won't come for 5-6 days unfortunately :( It's a shame because I wanted to try it on double bass in conjunction with the Red5 Rvd1 on Tuesday, but atleast I should be able to use it for guitar amp, trumpet, sax and snare :) Feel free to add any comments...

Final request for anyone to tell me if I'm going down the wrong route. Looking to pick one of these up in the next few days. Essentially, vocals is no longer much of an issue, but I'd like to use it on snare, sax, trumpet, clarinet, guitar amp (most of the time with another mic further back)...

Royer sf-12, Millennia, Lavry *Mp3 Sample*

Seems to be a problem with the mp3 host. Geocities don't take too kindly to sharing files I'd guess. Can't download, looking forward to it though :) Try uploading elsewhere (www.nowhereradio.com for a dedicated music site)

    SP B1 again.

Well, whilst we're all on the topic.... here's a very brief overview: Things I like: Pretty useful in most situations. Gets a useable to good sound in most areas, especially general instruments such as guitar and piano. Also nice on guitar amp. My brother recorded everything on his album using...

How does diaphragm size/polar pattern relate to mic applications?

I don't think too many people take thread ratings too seriously. I know I don't often rate threads, although I have made sure to rate this one just now :) To be honest I haven't had the time to read through the whole of this thread, but I know it's been influential to some, and many of your...

Guitar Center Oktava MC-012... no -10dB Pad anymore?

Hopefully my team Liverpool will succeed tommorow! :D After Bristol City's failings this season I have to hope. Talk about Hijacking a thread to the purposes of the Brits

ADK TL (specifically compared to B1)

Thanks Don.... I was wondering where I recognised your name from, of course its over at the Studio Forums where you posted the Cello recording. Lovely sound by the way, and the thread that first got me looking at ADK mics. I wonder what kind of difference there is between the TL and TC. Thanks...

Guitar Center Oktava MC-012... no -10dB Pad anymore?

OK cheers, so how long have I got.... if Sound Control get ahold of ADK they'll probably charge £1000 for an ADK TL - do you know how much longer they'll be selling?

Guitar Center Oktava MC-012... no -10dB Pad anymore?

Pants, what does that mean then for ranges such as Oktava and ADK which are pretty specific to Turnkey?

Guitar Center Oktava MC-012... no -10dB Pad anymore?

Glad to hear you had success. It's nice to know I could get some from Turnkey if needed, now they're available to those in the UK.

ADK TL (specifically compared to B1)

Ow... thats slightly rash isn't it? Most I've ever done is a delete a whole song out of frustration. Wish I hadn't now, quite liked it :( Tell me when you've got something to send. Sounds like you know what you're doing with the PC, sounds all very technical to me!

ADK TL (specifically compared to B1)

Well over the christmas holidays I got hold of an SM57 that I subbed in over the B1.... I figured being a dynamic it would take care of things. Not really.... even standing 3-4 feet away with the gain cranked or 6 inches away there was always that nasty harsh end. It's not really the mics fault...

Thanks guys for the bumpage and advice :) Nik, those songs were recorded with the B1 Okay here's an example.... accept that I can't sing before hand, though my voice has improved since this recording.... http://www.recordingproject.com/media/select.php?mediaid=472&category=30 Hope it...

ADK TL (specifically compared to B1)

Over 1000 posts, and I'm yet to have bought anything of my own! Problem is there are too many options, and just when you think you've settled on one mic, up comes another that looks even better. Anyway, I'd be interested to hear about peoples opinions of the ADK TL, as a general purpose and...

New mics new mics new mics

Cool. You'll enjoy the C4's - a nice buy in my view. I guess I'm mostly interested in the T3.... which hasn't always got a lot of coverage but is often seen as the pinnacle of the Studio Projects range. When do you think you'll have tested them all out?

    age+experience

I'm 17, and have been playing piano since roughly the age of 4-5. I've pretty much always had lessons, but even at the age of about 6-7 I was composing with my teacher as opposed to learning by the musical curriculum as such. In a way I'm grateful as composition is my strength, but I'm now...

Can anyone comment on the differences between the Studio Projects C1 and B3?

I've got the SP B1 which while isn't strictly the cardioid pattern of the B3, apparently shares some characteristics, and while its a great starter instrument mic, I don't think it suits many voices, nor does it like mine, which I would think is quite like yours. I'd suggest (although I've never...

    Beyer M201

What characteristics of the microphone do you think makes it good/bad for vocals? And IF you were to use it on vocals what kind of voice would be suited to it? Thanks for all the opinions so far, I appreciate it :)
