It sounds like a splice, Loop and drop job to me. with reverb and flanger. Take the vocal track and chop it up. Loop Parts and drop others

Check your sample rate setting. i have seen that cause issues with speed before.example your signal is comming in 44.1 but your masterlink is set to burn at 48k

Here is one way When you plug a cable into an TRS insert jack you break the signal chain. the normal flow of an insert is board-->TIP--> Effect/comp-->ring-->board. So what you need to do is get a trs connector and solder the TIP and RING pin's together. if you need a photo i will post one.
