it costs $8.00 or less. you can just forward a domain name to a free host: www.freewebspace.net. get a .com. it brings you to a whole 'nother level. (is 'nother even a word? I never really thought about that.)

Life After Indie (or) What's the Next Step?

you're going to hear "no" a lot, but you can't win if you don't play the game. you do, however, have quite a bit of work to do to be "successful". unless successful is playing a few local shows and selling cds to friends and family.

Musicians, I just built a site for us to upload music for free..

I concur. Lightning mp3 is better. I don't think you're grasping that only each individual file must be under 16mb (on Lightning mp3), but you can upload an unlimited amount of files. You only allow 150mb. Hmm... unlimited versus 150mb. I think I'll choose unlimited. Not only that, but you can...

    devil woman

thanks! yes I did used to post stuff from my band and I'm actually working on a solo record now. I'm not working with the band at the moment (though we're still friends and they may play on a few tracks) but even if it was a band effort, I think it would sound a lot like this solo record. I...

    anyone can be beirut

he did not 'invent' that style, not even remotely. that style is from the balkans and it's quite old. he wasn't the first to do it and most of his songs have no substance, which is hidden by the novelty of the arrangement.
