All I know about metal foundry is on the toontrack website. The big pleaser for me is I noticed they are bringing back the custom & vintage add on for 2.0
DFH is out of production I think? could be wrong. Superior 2.0 (it's actualy 2.2 now I think) Is the cream of the crop and all your old ezdrummer expansion packs work with it. They have a new metal expansion for superior 2.0 out this month I think.
I use it all the time triggered by e-drums so...
you need to sort out what it is you are going to be recording first. How many inputs do you require to record seperate instruments on at the same time? If the answer is 2, vocal & say acoustic guitar then you would be better served with a 2 channel interface with phantom power up to the value of...
I think the drums on both songs sound great. I'm a superior 2.0 user, used to work with ezdrummer. I agree with Chili about the room mic, much better to set up a nice room verb on a send to get the kit to gel.
I think the guy that made the comment about the snare being too uniform just wanted...
Great stuff, didn't like the sound of the kick sounded a bit flabby and isolated almost plasticy like someone bouncing a basketball everything else sounded great. I loved the bass tone
Haven't used anything on your list but I use a Countryman Type 85 FET DI on guitars and a tech 21 sansamp BDDI for bass on a daily basis. Both are active feeding off 48V PP or 9V battery. I've been using the countryman both studio and live for over 15 years, looks fuct, works perfectly every time.
You select EZDrummer as a VSTi (instrument). When you record the midi output from the drum brain it will record all the midi onto one track in your DAW. You select the output of that track to go to EZDrummer. EZDrummer has a built in mixer and you select from there whether you want the output to...
yeah totaly off topic :D The mobo is an Asus P5Q pro, it'll handle the overclock no problem. However I run a couple of UAD DSP cards in my system taking care of 90% of my plugins. I've never seen my system hit higher than 55% resorce use and that's running my ASIO driver at 64 samples with close...
I use a roland TD3 brain with Koby mesh pads all round & roland cymbals with a regular set of hihats into Superior 2.0 (I have EZDrummer aswell and it works just the same). The main problem for me was getting the regular mic'd up hats to sound like they were in the same space as the sampled...
Around 1985 I used one of these, a phillips DG6560, can't remember if I had it before the tascam 4 track or after. I think it was before cause I'd record onto the tape then play that part and play along and record that, then swap the tapes over till I had one big pile of hiss. Says it doubled as...
I went the Yamaha N12 route just before Allen & Heath released the R16. Same idea but with only 8 mic pre's. It has 3 reverbs from the Yamaha Rev X unit built in as well as their sweep spot morphing comp (which can be changed via software). The mic pre's are great, the convertors have been...
I found the Transformer insert plug but I am baffled by all these conditions and values, etc. I was hoping I'd find a drop down list that said "block channel 10" for instance as this is the midi channel the roland TD3 is fixed to transmit on. But I see no such easy shortcut.
In the transformer...
I have the yamaha N12 AISO down to 32 samples and have ALWAYS recorded the e-drums (TD3) via the midi input into cubase triggering Superiour 2.0 @1.9ms latency which, in latency terms for a drummer is fantastic.
I haven't up untill now needed to record drums and keys at the same time and I've...
