Songs from acoustic inception to full band version...

Yeah, you're not gonna change the key. As Garry said, it will give different voicings to your chords. For example, if your song is G C D, put a capo on the 5th fret and play the fingerings for D G A. In reality they're the same chords but played together, you will fill out more sonic space...

Mic Purchasing, please help/don't hurt me!

At this point I'd probably lean towards getting some variety with a couple of the more inexpensive mics. Learn what it is you're looking for before you start throwing the big cake around. Have a look at this: http://www.mojopie.com/micproj.html

    CAD E100 on kick

Hi. I'm relatively new to recording drums. My setup is 2 Oktava MC012s for overheads, a sm57 on the snare and the E100 on the kick. My basic theory is to get the best possible sound with the overheads and then reinforce where necessary with the snare and kick mics. I've made use of the...

Need a music shop in Boston - Please help soon!

I see the DMP3 out there in ebayland for a buy it now price of $169. Don't know how fast they can get it to you. There's usually not much price flexibility on the SP mics. 8thstreet is as good as any to get these.

    Does a single mxl603 deliver?

On the 603 vs. MC012 thing, it's going to depend on your preference and your guitar. I have a Gibson J200. For the most part I prefer the 603 but I will use the MC012 in certain applications. These mics are inexpensive enough to have a couple of each. On the single vs. stereo thing, one mic...

Added more mics to the closet

Options is right. Don't know about the v67 but you might like the 603s on your guitar (did you try the mc012?). Then again you might like the B1. Good luck in your quest. :)

    Oktava 320...

I've never heard of it but if you're saying there's a multi-pattern version of the 319 I suspect there'll be a stampede at Guitar Center this weekend. :)

    SM57 vs SP-B1

    I don't have a B1, I have a C1, but from everything I've read, you can't go wrong with a B1 or two.

    aw16g.com gone away?

Damn! I keep meaning to jot Dinsdale's email address down so I could make sure he knew something was wrong. It's been down in the past for a couple of days before he even knew anything was happening.

    recording

hmmm, interesting dilemma. I would say, for a band situation, you're gonna need a minimum of 4 tracks of simultaneous recording capability. In your price range I would think this is gonna leave you out of the digital world although you can browse the recorders at www.musiciansfriend.com to...
