    Reason For A/D/A Converters?

the higher qualtity converters, the more will the sound you get on pc sound like it's analog input. X times per second an AD convertor "measures" the signal and creates a "word" containg bits. X = sample rate = quantity of words that are sampled per second (in Hz) ex: 44100Hz, 4800Hz, 88KHz...

    question about DI

If I'm not mistaking, you can reverse passive DI's. Plug your aux out in your DI's "output" and feed the "input" to the amps input. I'm not sure this will work, never tried (don't even own a passive DI) but it'd be cool if it works. Correct me if it's wrong! I guess you're going to reamp ...

some kind of gate on cymbals

First of all, posting a sample, so we can hear the "skwishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"ing might definatly help. As far as gating: Really don't gate your OH's In a studio situation Oh's are suposed to capture the whole kit and not just the cymbals, so you get a basic sound from the...

    Samson CO1

I think it's not too great but ... on some vocalists it tends to add "warmth" to a thin sounding voice, rather than for example a studio projects B <- which, for general purposes, is much better in the same price range

Please Hear Our EP And tell us what you think!

Sounds good, nice piano tone. Much reverb indeed but I like that here. Singer doesn't really bother me that much. It's not perfect but it's Ok in most songs. I second that ... get some drums :D greets

    Marshall AVT150H Guitar Amplifier Head::PROBLEM

A blowed fuse doesn't smoke on it's own. There's probably another burned part inside which causes the fuse to blow. Get this amp repaired now and make him stop trying new fuses. It's like a sick cat that doesn't want to eat and vommits every time you feed it. Don't give it more food, go see a...

    6/8 grooves...DEAR GOD!

Count twice as fast and you'll see that it's in 6/8 If you consider this as 4/4 you'll have to play triple notes (is that the right name ?) all the time. I like the song btw.

i think it was the drugs.

If only HAD a neumann U47, I would never even consider thinking about putting it in a plastic bag in bottle of water. He could've used some reverb if he's tracks were to dry ...

    Bottom Snare Mic

Yeah but maybe inverting polarity on snare's top mike might cancell out with the overheads. I'm not sure, but you should try it it anyway. Are you doing this while mixing or tracking ? Either way, make sure you take note of every track wheter it's inverted or not. This will keep you from a...

    Bottom Snare Mic

Phase "invertion" or "flipping" is not the signal upside down. Phase invertion DOES NOT exist. You should understand the differance between phase and polarity. It seems like a stupid matter of terminology but it's not ... In reallife audio there is no such thing as phase inverting. You can...

    tube pedals

Hi, If you have no Idea what they sound like, then why exactly are you looking for a "tube pedal" ? Don't buy a piece of gear just because it has a light-glowing bulb in it. Don't get me wrong, I love tube amps, but what you are looking for might be a solid state distortion pedal like a Proco...

quieting a loud snare in the overheads?

Idd move your oh's closer to the cymbals and point your oh's to the cymbals. Also, try XY, so your oh's aren't pointing directly at the snare. Try not to use compression end eq to solve this problem. I bet you can get this right with positioning your mics only. Telling your drummer to be quieter...

    Spring Reverb

Anybody ever tried a spring reverb unit for mixing ? I'm talking about those dedicated guitar amp analog spring units. How does it sound on vocals or snare tracks ? I'm sure i'll try it next time but I was wondering if any of you allready tried ... greets
