i disagree with that...i picked up a carvin mts3200 used off of ebay for $380. the clean excellent, and the distortion is great, sounds like a 5150 to me, but with a little less gain. also, if set right, theres barely any feedback at all. u can check out the amp at carvin.com.

my amp has a switch that can be set for EL 34's or 6L6/5881's

well i got the idea from a "hot rodded" version of my amp on ebay.... is there any other mods i would have to do inside of the amp when changing to EL34's, besides jus flipping the bias switch? heres the link to the hot rodded MTS 3200...

hey, i was wondering if i could put Mesa EL34's into my Carvin MTS3200, switching the bias to EL34... does anyone have experience with this? does it really make the amp that much better? all of the reviews on the MTS that i have read have said that EL34's sound a lot better than the...

but then wouldn't the better preamps in the aardvark compensate for that? in the end, i may end up spending only another $100 or so and upgrading 8 preamps..

i was wondering wat you think of this. i currently use an m-audio delta 1010 (w/breakout box) and i use a behringer mixer for preamps. do you think it would be a good idea to sell both of those and get the aardvark q10? so basically, would this be an upgrade, or do think it would not make...

hey, i'm currently using a behringer mixer as my preamps, but i'm going to get a dmp3, which has 2 preamps. when recording drums, would u suggest i use the 2 better preamps on the bass/snare (top) or the two over heads? here's my mic setup: Bass - akgd112 snare top - shure sm 57 snare bottom...
