hey, how would you go from the real true natural acoustic sound to the acoustic sound of Dashboard Confessional and The Starting Line? The guy that i'm recording right now likes his sound more processed like Dashboard's sound. is this in the eq or compression or reverb or what?

a lot of "punk rock" bands do crazy shit with one pedal. check out nofx and strung out. i'm pretty sure they use one pedal. check out strung out - velvet alley...nutty song for the drums...(but then again i dont kno much bout drums)

i went to the store 2day n tried out the boss ds-1...and i actually like it, and i tried it in the high gain channel on a line 6 flextone, it seemed to have the sound i was looking for....something with nice gain to sustain me. i think i'm going to go with that... plus its price is great!

would using a volume pedal also back off the gain too? because that way a lot of times when we have stops i get feedback...and backin off the gain would solve that

thats the thing...i am trying to add more distortion, because if i got a pedal, then i would the amps distortion jus for rhythm...when less dst is needed...that way i can also limit the feedback. but when i use the ds-1 on my amp, will i have to use it in the clean channel or the lead channel?

hey, i use a carvin mts 3200, and i would like to buy a pedal that would be good for solo boosts and soloing. i can then use my amp only for rhythm parts where less gain is needed. i was considering the boss ds-1...any opinions? i also have a stupid question...while i do use the solo boost...

yea, its set at full power...and my ohmage is right. It may also be a speaker efficiency issue, as a difference of 3dB will double or halve your volume (and V30's are one of the most efficient speakers out there by most accounts). wat does thatr mean? i've played my head through a mesa cab...

yea they sound nice...but i'm finding the g12t a bit harsh...but its still pretty nice. the problem is with my amp...i bought it used and the sovteks were the stock tubes, and the person i bought it from got the amp in 2002...not sure if it was secondhand or not. but anyway, i was expecting...

i was using sovtek 5881's, but now i jus switched to sed winged c el 34's...jus switched them, and never got to truly try them out yet. so you think a v30/g12t mix would sound nice? any one wanna second that??

i think i figured it out...and it was 9.6, but my amp only has switches for 4, 8, and 16...so i guess i can't replace it with a 16 ohm speaker?

hey, i have a cab thats a total of 8 ohms. however, one speaker is blown...so if i replace that one speaker, can i replace it with a 16 ohm one? if so, wat would be the total ohms them?

bc i like the crack in my snare sound... i did it once and it sounded pretty nice, and i heard that some ppl here have done it with sucess. when i mic it from the top it always ends up sound pretty dark... n then when i eq it, give it more treble and such, it sounds fake and has the "am radio"...

High pass your guitars and try a compressor that will dull the top end on them. how do i do that??
