When you delete files from the pool via automatic means, it will delete all waveforms that you are currently not using in your project.
So if you recorded a track, then deleted it then recorded another track in it's place .. it is this former garbage track that would be deleted from the pool...
Can someone please clarify the precise technical differences between these two products? (not considering price and user interface)
Why would I choose one over the other?
Assuming price isn't a factor.
(Now before anybody tries to find my address and rob me, i'll tell you that price is a BIG...
should have the new version up soon. it's pretty much ready.
I'll just make an addendum to this thread once it's ready.
Here's what i did so far:
!Steps are not in the proper order!
1. Turned off ALL processing/eqing
2. The tune has it's root (for the most part) on 'G flat' .. i added a...
Right on!
Now that's the best dang comment ever.
I've got numbers to look at, things to listen for and a fresh perspective. (and hey positive feedback on the tune isn't a bad thing either chrisharris! )
.. not to mention a good slap in back of the head for using too much stereo enhancement...
Well this is a new mix .. can't get it quite right.
things are muddy .. things aren't cool.
help!!!
please only judge the one tune.

gosh this thread's old.
i've long since trashed t-racks and bought the Steinberg Mastering Edition Plugins and have dabled with the Waves stuff and Ozone.
.. not to mention a new computer or two and completely different setup.
lol.
Here's my final remark on this subject. This was posted in the guitar forumn.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The attack is fine .. it's that nasty 'zipper' type sound that just sounds like someone's scratching records when i'm soloing.
I've tried two...
When playing.
The attack is fine .. it's that nasty 'zipper' type sound that just sounds like someone's scratching records when i'm soloing.
I've tried two picking techniques (the only ones i know and can maintain) , have tried swapping picks and lowering the humbucker.
The post-recording...
who ever it is from Mr.Big??
PAUL GILBERT
"Mr." Gilbert rocks. Listen to him on Racer X and you'll see that he plays Yngwies style as well. He's a shredder. On top of that he plays classical extremely well.. and perhaps even better than Malmsteen. (technically speaking :-) )
The following...
well if the attack was a muted thud instead of a high frequency scratch sound .. i'd be perfectly happy. As it stands, the scratching really spoils the mood of a nice solo. It sounds like some rapper guy is scrathing records while i play my soloes. It's damn anoying. (Of course there's nothing...
Guys I have a big problem in terms of 'picking' sound .. and it's not my playing.
The picking sound is like a high frequency zipper of some sort. I can't remove it from the mixes.
The original thread lives here ..... (I was told to ask the guitar forumn)...
rondo!!!!!!
*dim light turns on in head*
Dude!! Perhaps my humbuckers are too close to the strings!!!! Is that a possibility???
The scratching sound is really anoying. I AM gonna kill it. I can't live i with it. It's IT or ME.
The de-esser may be the solution too as mentioned above. I've...
electirc. Ibanez JS with dimarzio pickups. Tried picking at the neck, mid and bridge positions. Picking at various positions is certainly valid techqniqie .. and i use it all the time.
A patient walks into the doctor's office and says: "It hurts when I do that." The doctor replies: "Then...
Thanks Bruce you're right. Compressing the output certainly squashed the overall dynamic range when agressively trying to minimize the problem. Really frustrating.
So the compressor on the output was a bad bad idea.
How about if I put it on the input? I'm thinking about getting a Rocktron...
Maybe my rig ain't top notch. I have to live with it. Micing and/or changing rigs is not an option. Please bear that in mind when answering. I can however spend about 300$ on the problem.
PROBLEM:
When recording any guitar passage that requires picking, the sound of the pick is so prominent...
LOL.
Records are pirate proof ey?
TURNTABLE -> ADC -> PC/REC SOFTWARE -> DAC -> AMP -> SPEAKERS
(I know you all new this .. i'm not being arrogant, just beating a dead thread)
Hasn't technology made it so simple to steel anything you see on tv/movies/digital and heard on analog...
There you go. at least you got something done.
Personal motivational rant to myself:
.. hey as long as you don't find yourself whacking off on the couch watching reruns on a perfectly good weekend day wondering why your 'shit' never came together, blaming it on your 'lazy ass' bassist or...
