Bounce files(wav) as per timeline for other DAW Mixing

It's quite easy. Just copy and paste a tone at the 0:00 mark of each track. I'm a member of Kompoz.com and people from all over the world collaborate on songs. Because we all use different DAW's and gear, it's a great way to share tracks. Have a look at their tutorials and it shows how...

    Masters of There Day

Not sure where to put this so mod feel free to move it. Got an e-mail from Benchmark that was way cool. Not trying to push Benchmark, but they have 3 videos out of 3 different groups in the studio. 10 minute HD productions showing tracking and final product from their recording session. Great...

Hey Chater-La Like the new look, I take it we have upgraded versions? One problem I've noticed is that I have the forum as an RSS feed in my browser and it no longer updates. Just shows old posts from a couple of weeks ago. Thought I would mention it. Rick

Bounce files(wav) as per timeline for other DAW Mixing

not sure what you mean by timeline, but I think you are talking about clips that are not the entire length of the song. One thing that is common for sharing files on multiple platforms is to put a sync tone at the very beginning of each track. This is usually a synthetic sound that has a very...

Connecting midi interface to Fast Track Ultra 8R

Actually, your unit should have come with a break out cable to connect to the back of the unit. This breakout cable has 5 pin midi in/out connectors and rca s/pdif connectors, so you have all you need. In your DAW, you will just have to assign the midi ports from the 8r to a midi channel and...

Will this basic setup work for me?

There are so many interfaces available now that will do what you want and cheap ($100 range). Recording acoustic guitar though is a challenge to get a good sound/reproduction. The mic is very important for this. Also, to really highlight acoustic guitar, it can be very advantageous to record...

    Not in general. Specifically...

Actually, a lot of the big producers have started putting a multiband compressor on the master bus during mix. It's something Charles Dye talks a lot about in his columns. The reasoning is very subble multiband gives a nice glue as you are mixing, probably because its giving a kind of analog...

    Control SONAR 8 with GR-30

With the learn function or ACT, I think you can pretty much map any function to the control of your choice. So using the "generic control surface" pull up the properties window. That's where you should be able to asign say the play function to footpedal 1 etc. You may even be able to set up a...

    Control SONAR 8 with GR-30

Would it be possible to use the midi learn commands or even the ACT thingy. I have my CS set to use the transport controls, but I can still control them with my mouse and keyboard shortcuts.

    Monitoring problem

I vaguely remeber someone else having the same problem with a 1641. Not sure if it was this forum or not. Anyway, the fix was a firmware update and I just looked at the Tascam site and they have firmware updates. May be worth checking if you have the latest version.

Very quick and urgent but very important question...

If you can, yes, should be 24 bit, no dither. You may want to confirm with the mastering house if that's what they want, but that would be the norm

    Monitoring problem

Couple more questions. What monitors are you using and are they connected to the monitor outs of the 1641? Are you direct monitoring or is it playback that is distorting?

    600 Ohm Headphones

Kind of a strange thing. A lot of headphones are around 60 ohms. Could it be a typo? From what I understand, the lower the impedance, the louder the headphones are at the same same relative settings.

    Behringer going factory direct?!?

IT could be that, or what I suspect is that they are doing away with "Authorized Distributors" and anyone with a PO can negotiate purchases with them. It becomes a free for all in the retail side as everyone and their brother now have access to the product. Then they basically offer volume...

I'm about to upgrade my pc. Is this enough memory to run the PT 8 LE M-box on?

It also depends on what OS you are running. You need 64 bit OS to use more than 3 gigs of ram. If you are running 32 bit, anything more than 4 gigs is a waste. Is Protools LE 64 bit ready? Digi is usually about a year behind.

When I use the Effects my computer freezes

Ok, wasn't nice of us, but that is one of the common things that happens with pirated versions and we get asked that a lot on this forum. So, to try to help, can you be more specific about your problem ie: is there one specific VST causing the freezup or any VST. Also, are these included with...

    Audio Inferface

I really like the look of the Lexicon. I'd get one if I didn't already have what I have! Not sure where you are, but Moog Canada has a demo unit on sale for $199 (about $180 US) http://www.moogaudio.com/lexicon-u22-ionix-qty-avail-1-demo-p-1952.html?osCsid=8c9fbaa6b6a296b24a9de6fceb58a80a
