I use goldwave for batch conversion...it can be used for other things s well..I remember a friend of mine used it to prepare some of our live performances for "burning"...I think he was using it for noise reduction, EQ, adding some effects and stuff...I personally haven't done this much with...
Ashura,
How high are your levels on individual tracks when you're actually mixing the song?? How high are your meters hitting?
Try mixing with higher levels..let's say you turn the vocals up untill they go near 0 (zero) into yellow part of the meters...then build your mix around them by...
oneArtist,
you might have heard of the new RNP = real nice preamp....it's been tried by some memebers on this board and got some good reviews...you could search for RNP and read what ppl think of them....(I think tubedude has one?!)
about $500 USD I think
Check it out at www.fmraudio.com
Hi Clive,
What program do your .wav and .WAV files come out of before you go to burn them??
I can't really differentiate between the two, but try discribing the process of getting the .wav files before burning,,,might be able to help ya...
:)
Lopp,
I agree 100% ON THAT ONE, BUT DID YOU FIX THAT PERMANENTLY OR DO YOU have to do it every time you go to enable??...I have to do mine every time....
you are wrong my friend....I'm not sure who wasted more time typing "bullshit"..maybe I was trying to save you time by telling you not to ask such questions, but to go straight to the manual instead(which you at the end probably did) ....
I hope you're not gonna argue any more, and...
Ed,
for the questions you asked noone will (can) give you answers that are a whole lot different to what manual tells you...I, to be honest, would be copying and pasting answers from the manual to help you...POINTLESS....and when you say that this board is about helping people, you are right...
I've just mixed the same song doing all the effects thru sends, and just a few inserts on separate channels...I got away with three verbs and two delays on the sends I got the CPU performance meter down to 30%
I am very happy :D :D
...yep you guessed it....to be honest I didn't know much about how to "send and return" in Cubase, but after reading a bit of manual (which I absolutely hate:mad: ) I'm starting to get it to work....haven't tried the whole tune with sends, but will do soon and I'll let you know how I go...
I'll...
it could be explained , but I think it's a lot easier if you read the manual and help files....they could be a bit "unclear" sometimes, but I'm sure you'll understand the fundamental bits...
good luck
cheers
Thanks for the replies guys
Participant: That's exactly what I tried, in this particular tune.... I mixed down drums (7 tracks) to one stereo track, but it only went from 80% to 60% in CPU performance and plus you lose the flexibility of tweeking the drums again....but by the way some people...
Hi guys..
I was just wandering what your "record" is on performance of your CPU...
Can you specify number of tracks played back, number of plugins and on what system you did it (using VST32 5.x)
It's just that I've got a couple of songs with a few tracks and plugins running, and expect my CPU to...
wow...when I hear something like this I feel even dumb posting any comments about it...this is great
everything is cool, but I just find the guitar (the wah that's going all the time) interrupting the vocals a bit. I had to think what to listen to: guitar or the vox...but I guess you went for it...
I reckon it's very clean and tidy...is this you singing, I like the voice very much
The mix is a bit too "monoish" for the majority of the tune....you've got a bit of stereo spread only in that part of the song with guitar and piano solo/improv. and with your shaker on the left :) ..put...
