    Display monitor input

Up to this point the decision was always made for me. Maybe I should plug in both, that should be twice as good.:D

    Changing PCI card

A four track cassette has more processing power than I need, but I'm all for excess, it helps compensate for talent. I only record by myself at home, but I love messing around with this stuff. Anyways,as it turns out three of the plugs I wanted to update (LA2A/1176/Pultec) are non UAD-2...

    Changing PCI card

Now that I have a new computer I'm just getting up to date on this stuff. I'll have to see how much this affects me, there's a possibility if I don't need that much power I can ditch the 1s, but I would rather get more miles out of them. I'm pretty sure a solo is equal to 2½ UAD-1s, depending...

    Changing PCI card

I had 3 UAD-1s, I now have 3 UAD solos, my new computer has 3 PCI slots, one with my sound card, I was hoping on using two 1s in conjunction with the three 2s.Are you telling me I can't use 7.2?

    Display monitor input

Does it matter what input you use on a display monitor? I have HDMI and DVI inputs.

    Changing PCI card

I bought a new computer and it has a firewire card in a PCI slot. I want to remove the card because I don't need firewire and put in a UAD-1 card. My question is, do I need to uninstall any drivers for this before I install the UAD card?

Lightly aged or brand spankin' new?

I keep asking the question, but it never gets answered........if someone scratches or dings your reliced guitar, do you get pissed off or thank them?

Why I sounded out of tune live but I heard myself in tune? (Vocals)

If you're out of tune just tell anyone who notices that it's like modern art and if they don't like it it's because they're not smart enough to appreciate it.:D

    writing originals vs. playing covers

Being a good musician has nothing to do with playing covers or originals, being a good songwriter does. Two different but related tasks. Bob Dylan is commonly regarded as a genius but I don't think anybody would want him to do session work other than to get his name on their album.

Too Much Preamp Hiss When Fingerpicking On Acoustic Guitar

This is the first thing I thought of, also an e609 would not be my choice for fingerpicking, I have one and I always thought it was for high volume micing like amps and drums.

    Vox AC30C2X vs AC30HW?

I'm always fighting with people who insist everything was made better in the old days, in a lot of cases they were made that way because it was the only way they knew how.

-String Changes- The small things that can get overlooked.

New strings are a bit wacky but I've been using standard D'addarios forever and a good half hour of playing seems to do it for me. I've tried the coated strings a lot of times but I always go back to regular ones, just personal preference. The one that threw me off was ukulele strings, they take...

    Bridge pins on acoustics

It's one of those things where I'm so used to the sound of it I wonder if it would sound better if I changed them. I don't want him to fix it too much, oddly enough I like higher action on my guitars and most people who have tried playing my guitar tell me it's too high.

    Bridge pins on acoustics

I don't know if you're replying to me or the OP, but I will take it to the store that has worked on my guitars and that we get our kids instruments from. They excel at service and that's how they've managed to stay in business in today's internet/GC world. Again I really don't think it's a...

    Bridge pins on acoustics

Ooooh, good thread, I've thought about posting the same question. I have a twenty five year old acoustic and the pins are actually pretty ragged and I've been thinking about replacing them. I just have plastic pins now, any recommendations? The guitar is so worn out I've had the first three...
