    Justify my love.

I know how you feel. I wanted one for a long time. Then I finally broke down and decided to finance it. I'll be paying for it for a year. It's worth it though. Get one!

    Justify my love.

Never mind the input question, I went to the Ricky web page and found out myself. Whew, thought I was screwed there for a second. Anyways, I've had a chance to jam with it a few times now and it sounds awesome. It has a bit of a sharp edge on the body and I think I might cut my forearm in half...

we want a record deal.. so does everyone

Hi Ron. Deadbolt are a source of inspiration to us all. It's nice to see that a band can have so much fun regardless of their level of mastery of their instuments. I just wish they'd come up to Canada, or at least Calgary. We've got some great bands up here that could share that bill. Ever heard...

we want a record deal.. so does everyone

Hey Ron, yer friend's band Deadbolt is one of my favorite bands right now! I play them on my radio show all the time. I just about pissed my pants when I heard "The Mocker" Getting back on topic though, I agree with you guys saying screw the record contract, just do it yourselves. I have frinds...

    Justify my love.

Glad to hear that. Since you've got one maybe you can answer a question? Depending on which input jack you're using, will one of the pickup selections not work. Is that normal or do I have a loose wire somwhere. I think it's the way it's supposed to be and I just need a split stereo cable but...

It's sweeeeeet. I haven't had a chance to try the special double output jack thingy yet but it sounds great through my frankenstien bass rig. Traynor head, Fender Cab with 2 15" speakers. I want to try running it through my Big Muff pedal too but I'm afraid that I'll be posessed by the spirit of...

    Justify my love.

I went into the store to buy guitar strings. I walked out with a Rickenbaker bass. Should i feel guilty? It did have strings on it... right?

    DIY Rawk etc.

Some friends & I have started a label. We just got our new web page up with some MP3's of the bands we've put out. Check 'em out if you feel like it. Most of the songs were recorded on 16 tracks of Adat in quickie guerilla recording sessions.More to come. www.catch-and-release.org

    soundblaster livedrive

I run stuff in using Soundforge or Wavelab. They save audio as wave files. when i got my SBL Platinum card, Soundforge came with it. Is cwp9 Cakewalk? I've got cakewalk too but I don't even know where to begin as far as making it work. I suppose I could read the manual but I'm not very motivated...

    Recording on Vinyl

I do a radio show on Calgary's university station and we still get a lot of vinyl sent in, mostly 7"s. If other indie stations are like our's, here's a tip for inide bands: Radio stations get tons of cd's every week, some of which make the playlist where they are soon replaced by newer playlist...

    soundblaster livedrive

I just got a soundblaster live platinum a couple of weeks ago and I run mixes into my computer using the line in on the front panel thingy and it works fine. I think it should work for running a keyboard in if you're just making a wave file. If you're talking about multitracking, I'm not sure, I...

    Adat to Cakewalk?

Thanks for the info. Sounds a little pricey right now but it's good to know. I guess I'll just stick to "old skool" mixin' for now.

    Adat to Cakewalk?

I haven't actually tried this yet but I thought I'd maybe save myself some frustration but asking you guys about it first. If I run a line from the digital out of my Adat into the digital in on my computer, can I end up with 8 seperate unmixed tracks in cakewalk? Is it that simple or is there a...

    4 Track Blues - Tascam 424 MK2

Ohhhh... Ok, I see what you're trying to do. Hmmm, I sorta remember trying to pull off something like that quite a few years ago. I don't remember our overly complicated setup amounting to anything that gave an acurate representation of what we sounded like. I'd say, if you're making a tape to...

    Adat into Cakewalk?

I posted this question in the Cakewalk forum too, but maybe this one is more appropriate? What is the end result when you run the digital out of an Adat into a program like Cakewalk? I haven't used Cakewalk yet but I have it on my computer. Will 8 individual unmixed tracks of audio end up in...

    4 Track Blues - Tascam 424 MKII

Right on, a fellow Headcoats fan! I heard they're breaking up after only 10 albums or something, what a lazy bastard that Billy Childish is. Have you heard the Von Zippers or the Mants? Good garage squeezin's from my home town. sludgehammer

    4 Track Blues - Tascam 424 MKII

I've found that you can get some pretty cool sounding stuff down with a 4 track, depending on what you're shooting for. For the most part, don't expect to record your album on it uless you're Guided By Voices or something. For an interesting rough n' tumble kinda recording, set up 2 room mics...

    Mixing down onto Wavelab

Hey y'all, I'm Sludgehammer, long time listener, first time caller. So anyways, I'm trying to mix down from my Adat thru a mackie and into the line in on my soundacard. It's a Sondbalaster Live Platinum. Please don't reply telling me how bad that card is because I just bought it. When I recorded...
