Hm-1
If you go to http://ntrack.com/ntrackforum/index.html and in the thread titled "Its cheap, It looks cool" on page eight of that thread there is an audio recording of an accustic.
I just finally got my order form today - I guess they are going to start shipping the matched pairs the first...
Especially when you consider kelly will match them up so you get a matched pair for $140. I live in Canada so this is an especially good deal for me, I save shipping and duty charges.
It will cost me about $170 canadian for the pair. A non-matched pair of 319s would cost me at least $315...
Kelly let me listen to some clips of the Hm1 for overheads, and it sounded very good to me. It convinced me to order.
Also at recording.org I read a post where a guy preferred the hm1 over his oktava 012's for overheads.
I am looking at getting a multi-pattern condenser, and I could get an a51 st for a good price, but I have never had a chance to use one (nowhere close by to audition). I have used their a51 and liked it alot.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience (good or bad), and also how...
Thanks for the replies.
sandwiches,
This was recorded in my kid's playroom actually (I dont know if the piles of toys made an effective bass trap or not) I am just in the process of building a home studio and I just got the control room finished enough so I could give it a try - so this is my...
I would appreciate some feedback on this song. I just finished mixing it, and would like to hear opinions on how you feel everything fits together etc.
Thanks

I'd use the digital outs of the dbx. That is probably the best feature on the 376. Just make sure you set up your audiophile to run on the 376's word clock, and everything should work fine.
Have fun!
I have both the ntk and the nt1000. They are both good mics. The price difference has to do with the ntk being a tube mike, but quality wise I wood say they are in the same league. The ntk has a fuller sound (bigger bass response), while the nt1000 is just clean sounding. For vocals, it is...
I have been corresponding with benchmark about the mp-3.
It seams pretty basic you buy their preamps ($100 each), a psu, ($36) and build a case. They recomend putting the psu in another case (I'm not sure if I wand to get into that).
This isn't really doing it all yourself, but I figgured it...
So, if I understand the info correctly, you would make a case of some kind, and then get a power supply, conect the pre to the power supply, make conections for the output, and your all set.
Am I missing something, or is that all there is to it?
When you say good, what are you comparing it to...
I am selling my dbx 386. It is great for anyone with an echo mia, or audiophile (or similar card). The digital out gives two extra imputs for recording drums, etc..
Good di for electric guitar and bass with a little tube drive, great converters, and a nice clean pre if you leave the tube...
The motu 24i is gone too.
Just the dbx 386 left. It is great for anyone with an echo mia, or audiophile (or similar card). The digital out gives two extra imputs for recording drums, etc..
I am just selling off some stuff that I rarely use any more.
A MOTU 24i expansion unit. In good condition with original box etc.. $300 US plus shipping. ($390 +shp CAN)
A dbx 386 in good condition (one scratch by the rack mount ear). 300 US + shp ($390 + shp CAN)
An echo mia 130 + shp...
I have not used the delta 1010, but I have used the delta 66 and also an echo mia for two years.
I then bought a motu 2408mk3 and found a significant difference in the sound.
At the same time I got the 2408mk3 I purchased a lucid GENx96, and it is a great combo.
Before, when I would compare...
I agree with Middleman,
I have a grace 101, demeter hm-1 (really nice), voicemaster pro, and dbx 386. The voicemaster is right in the same ballpark as my other pres (and of course better than the 386). I love the voicemaster pro on female vocals (especially high singers). It is not harsh at...
