got any pics? how old is the head anyways? I'm trying to save up for some more studio gear, but ive been going for way too long with only the radio in my truck (stupid crappy cd player broke and wont play cds grr).
thanks...
[momentary thread hijack:]
The new thrice album is amazing--but if youre a thrice fan because of ic/ios then chances are you might not like it. It is a lot more 'chill' at least in comparison with their older stuff. I will always go back to IOS and love it (not playing favorites, theyre...
57 + e609s for me
the e609s might not have the 'meat' in this case at least, but i love how smooth and clear it is. ive found the best combination for the bands ive recorded is mainly e609s with a little 57 thrown in. in a tight mix the e609s really stands out and gives me the sound im...
thrice did something like this for the release of their latest cd... cept they just had their files online, and i think some of them were stems... i like the idea and its cool artists are doing this sort of stuff!
In my limited experience with SWR, they tend to be clean, tight, and punchy which is great if thats the kind of sound youre looking for.
as for myself, im an ampeg guy--love that dirty rock tone.
wow, thanks for taking the time to write all that out glen--some good advice in there, i really appreciate that. ill definately keep a lot of that in mind when we next record...
thanks for the replies guys, and sorry i was a little vague with the initial post.
ill try to specify a little...
with the three guitarists, they arent going to be playing different things all the time (im not worried about mixing them when theyre just doubling up a rhythm part or whatever)...
hey guys, ive had some experience recording and mixing my own band when we had two guitars, but now we have three and ive never worked with three guitars before. i was just wondering if anyone had any tips or techniques i might not think to try when i go about mixing our next album? (its a full...
heres a second vote for the a-designs pacifica or the new lunchbox versions (p1, emsilver, etc...). ive heard great things on these units from gearslutz, etc...
sennheiser e604s if you are on a budget
sennheiser md-421s if you want killer mics that you can use on multiple sources.
- just say no to 57's on toms.
i wouldnt want to play a $300 bass, but then again, im an actual bass player. haha just kiddin guys.
For something on a budget, I'd definately look around for used deals... and i would second taking a look at some of the cheap dean models--they really arent too bad for the price. i actually...
Here's a little clip I recorded of my drummer just havin a bit of fun last summer when we were recording our album. I added a bit of EQ to a couple of the tracks after I first recorded them, but they really havent been mixed much (not that it needs a whole lot, considering its just drums and a...
Fascinating info about bob heil... i meant no disrespect to his microphones or legacy. However, I still think 'relatively unknown' is a decent description when compared to the likes of shure, sennheiser, neumann, etc... Id bet there are a lot of people out there that know or have heard of...
Wow thats very solid praise for some relatively unknown microphones, and thats good news for me considering the pr-40 could save me some pennys over the sm7 and/or re20.... thanks for your initial appraisal--cant wait til the final word is here.
Read around. Then be confident in buying Sennheiser HD280s. These are the best headphones I've ever had. I hear things I've never heard before or noticed. Very clear, smooth response... They also isolate well (not extreme isolation by any means but great for tracking) and are very...
hey guys,
im selling my fan controller on ebay and I thought Id let you guys know. having the ability to control your fans while monitoring critical temperatures of components in your computer is a great ability for any computer, but i think it is especially useful for digital audio...
Alright, that sounds fair to me.
I have a confirmed paypal account with numerous transactions (photoresistor at comcast dot net) as well as 50+ 100% positive feedback on ebay (id: photoresistor) and am in 'the good guys' thread on this forum for a past transaction. ive done numerous buying and...
heres a tip that helps me:
- first know your part good enough so you dont need to hear it to play it (you can play be feel and sight while not being mechanical)
- not turn up the metronome (or turn down your guitar) so that you barely hear your guitar. this way your focus will mostly all be on...
