    Is this mix any good?

Haven't recorded much lately so I've been working on mixing skills and techniques. Re-did this Tania Nederway song. Any mix feedback is, as always, appreciated. https://www.box.com/s/a6259e905b918039a7fc Revised mix: https://www.box.com/s/eeb1665893c5582f2ee0 Revision two...

    New Song - Albuquerque

Nice song Chili. Regarding the low end: At least on my monitoring system the bass could come up a dB or two. The kick is buried. I really have a hard time picking it out. As for the rest, it sounds to me like the snare is mostly ring out and little pop. Not sure if that's what you're...

Need some feedback on this song (resonator acoustic)

    Link seems broken now.

    Traditional Bluegrass Mix

Loved the playing. Amazing banjo work. I was too busy tapping my toe to formulate any kind of critique

    Guitar Buzz

I doubt you'll be able to get a buzz to cancel with a phase flip, might even make it worse. Waves Z-Noise has worked pretty well for getting rid of unwanted hiss/buzz/hum.

    Acoustic singer/songwriter.

Bought it. Downloaded it. Love it.

    Acoustic singer/songwriter.

Just listened to 4 and 6. I love this guy. This is good enough for Sirius Satellite coffee house channel, in fact better than a lot on there. This guy has talent, and you've made him sound great. Seriously, let us know when the CD is done, and I'll buy some copies. Awesome stuff.

    Singer/Songwriter tune

Very nice. I think you've done a really nice job capturing and mixing the elements. Reverb is tasteful and not overdone. Drums would bring this song alive. I think the dobro or slide guitar part would sound better if the slide was shorter (i.e. one or two frets) followed by some arpeggiated...

    Another One for Final Check

Thanks. I'm happy with it the way it is, but I think it could be better. The vote seems split. Hers is the only one that counts though Thanks again for the input Thanks poetic. I listened again, and I think I know what you mean. I'll try to soften them some. That's two comments now about...

    Another One for Final Check

If you could see the volume automation already on the vocals you would probably laugh. It's basically word for word. I should post a screen shot. Anyway, I'll give it a couple more runs through and focus just on vocal spikes.

    Another One for Final Check

Ah man you're killing me. I think this needs percussion so bad, but she doesn't want it. We've had the discussion, and I lost.

    Another One for Final Check

Different gal than MCB. Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can't get the sound image more centered somehow. Thanks heat. Her voice has a nice tone, but there's quite a bit of processing going on, and a ton of volume automation. Her volume goes up and down quite a bit. It takes a lot of...

    Acoustic Song, Final Mix?

OK, good. I really appreciate you man. You've always got some good ears to help out. I'm wondering now if my 2 buss compressor is out of whack, like output hotter on the left than right. Gonna have to check it out. Thanks for the feedback

    Acoustic Song, Final Mix?

Sorry man, I thought the limiter was catching the peaks, but apparently not. Here's one turned down. Beards 2012_02_20.mp3 - File Shared from Box Thanks again for taking the time.

    Acoustic Song, Final Mix?

Posted a new version with the following changes based on all your recommendations. Ditched the vocal doubling. Cut low mids from guitar only after the bass comes in. Slowed the song down at the end starting about 6 measures sooner. Took some room out of guitars and lead vocals. Good...

    Acoustic Song, Final Mix?

Hey man, this is exactly what I want to hear. That's two now against the vocal doubling, so I'll try the song without it. Easy enough to reduce the room sound as well. Thanks for giving it a close listen. i'll work on a revision and post it up.
