    Beyer M-500

I have an old Beyer M-500 ribbon mic that I've had for over 30 years.....I was told last night that using it with a mixer's phantom power turned on could damage it....having done that exact thing several times, I wonder how I might test it to see if it's "intact".....

    DP=02...mic?

I have a dp01 fxcd and use a variety of mics with it.....since the 01 and the 02 probably have the same preamps, I can tell you that you will do much better by buying an external preamp.....I use a couple of Behringer mic-200's....this gives a good strong signal without the need to turn those...

sounds like you need to remove the "media".....that's the audio cd....look at the cd tray.....below it and on its left side there is a little hole.....open up a large paper clip and insert it STRAIGHT into the hole....it should push an eject button inside the drive.....then just remove the cd...

    Peavey pv14

I'm looking for a good (quiet) mixing board and have noticed the Peavey pv14 usb model....planning to use its preamps in some recording and its high impedance inputs to digitize a bunch of old 4 track analog recordings, done years ago on a Teac 3340s...anyone here have experience with this model?

    DP01 mic/guitar switch question

The input pre-amps on the dp01- (fxcd) seem to be inadequate....in order to get a strong enough signal, the input levels need to be turned way up and into an area where they produce a bit of background hiss....this can be corrected by using a mic pre-amp...this will also allow you to power...

    DP01 mic/guitar switch question

the output impedance of an electric guitar is different (higher) than that of the type of microphone using cannon (xlr) inputs.....I suppose you could plug a high impedance mic into an electric guitar input....

    DP01/FX/CD as cd burner

".....superior cassette."?.......there are 2 words you don't see in the same sentence often!....the dp01 fxcd will give you much greater performance than any cassette deck.....it also has the advantage of "analog feel" by using mixing board controls that we're all familiar with....it will burn...

    mic preamp setting...

after a lot of experimenting with a pair of sony ecm-22p's and a pair of behringer mic 200 preamps, I've been able to get a wonderful acoustic guitar sound with the preamps set on "valve"......other settings on the behringer are named electric guitar, vocal, acoustic guitar, piano, etc......what...

mics I use a pair of AKG Perception 200 condenser mics, a pair of Sony ECM-22p condenser mics, a Beyer M-500 ribbon mic, and some old AKG D-1000 dymamics with my DP01-fxcd......to increase gain (and for the modeling option), I use a couple of Behringer mic 200 pre-amps......I read the manual...

    DP-01FX/CD Not Recording

a common problem is failure to actually arm the channel on which you want to record.....there are 2 meters that need to indicate recording level; on the left of the meter are the 2 input levels and to their right are the eight track levels.....if (for example) track #1 is properly "armed", there...

    Tascam DP-01

the dp-01 (fx etc.) has two sets of meters......on the left are the input meters for left and right mic or line inputs.....to the right are the eight track inputs....you can have the input bars/meters showing activity without any of the eight tracks armed......make sure that the meters are...

I also have a dp01 fxcd and have the same complaint about the lack of inputs and poorly lit meter....it would also have been nice to have higher output preamps built in, but with the addition of a couple of Behringer mic 200's, that issue was easily solved.....with that said, I've been able to...
