Mic for recording Acoustic Guitar

Staying below 100$, what would you advise me to get?

Does the shure PG57 give decent quality?

The general concensus is to stay away from the PG series.

I think a naiant mic (or two) could work well, especially in a good room.

Also, take your pick of any of the $100 chinese LDC's. I've had good results a Studio Projects B1.

There is bound to be a bunch of suggestions of Naiant MSH-1s, but I went ahead and got a pair of MSH-2s, and I love em.

For acoustic guitar I would go the MSH-1's. (A matched pair) That is what was recommended to me for acoustic guitar from the manafacturer of Naiant.

I will agree, you can't do better under a hundred bucks for a single mic for acoustic, let alone a pair that will give you uncountable positioning options.

One question, what will your mic/mics be running into?

When I said the manafacturer recommended the MSH-1's, I meant out of his products it is the MSH-1's that would be best suited.
At the moment I will either be running into my BOSS 1600CDR or my Mackie 1402VLZ. I am looking at purchasing a pre-amp but I am going to wait until I get my AT 4050 mic and see what results I get from using the mic pre's onboard.

The Naiants are great acou guit mics. At $22 a pop they are a steal.

I tried mine out last night and for $44 USD a matched pair.....YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG! You will need phantom power though!

Hand up for the MSH 1.
I only have the one - I didn't opt for a matched pair - should've done though, the single does acoustic git very nicely. It also does well on cello & I use it as a room mic a couple of feet back & coupled with whatever takes my fancy for vocals.
