that was a big issue several year sgo... especialy the via chips set... seems that's been sussed out pretty well by now as even the tascam site recommends vias now...
there's one on stlouiscl... been there a couple of weeks... looks a bit rough but the guy swears it's perfect electronicly (are they ever?)... asking $4.5K...
am hotrodding a series 500 SC here... cant recommend it too much... would love a trident as well i'm sure... there's shitloads of data available on rrehabbing SCs... one place i can chat with the guy that designed my board... so hard to find better opinions...
here's alink to a good site for analog consoles... mostly high end but i think you may find the schemo in a sticky there... i love this site... i can chat with the guy that designed my series 500... way cool...

i'll look for the link... i just read some stuff a couple of days ago... may have tom's hardware... i'm ready for a new build and most all the boards ive been seeing have not had fw... one actually had 12 usb's though...
youmown or renting??? perhaps an hour or two of the electricians time would do... make sure all the equipment is on the same powerleg... sounds like you may have funky wiring job... one socket maybe out from the others...
does it only happen with certain pieces in the mix??? check for AC cables running alongside audio... if ya cant reroute it make it cross at 90 degrees..
you're the kid that reads ahead of the rest of the class and gets himself in trouble.... you are over thi king this and trying to let the tools do your work instead of useing the tools to do it yourself... forget the analyzer for the forseeable future... and flat responce monitors are prefered...
sure it makes sense... i would question at this point whether you need a patch bay... no use doing it and "possibly" adding noise if ya dont have to... i would be more worried at this point about keeping the audio and powerlines from runningalong each other...
dont know why people are avoiding this thread... looks like 50 views and no responces so far... i cant relly offer anythin extra except to do the rest of that adjacent wall... the roxul wont help the transmission but should help with the reflections inside... haveung to come up with a solution...
hell man even apple doesn't use it anymore... so if the consumer side doesnt support it it may hang in there a little longer based o specialty use but without native ports newbs will steer clear of it and then it's days are numbered... i'm still useing it.. and you may too... but when were you...
another way to approach this would be to eliminate everything but the mixer amp and speakers... now how much noise??? then start adding the rest of the kit... watch for devices that start adding up the noise... ya might try different cables on the ones that add noise... it can be a bitch to...
i was at a crown amp tedhs seminar once where they put up on the screen a picture of the filter response they had put in one of their pip cards for running bose 802's... shoulda heard the gasp/laugh...
fire wire is a smige faster... but it seems to be fading fast... fewer and fewer boxes have them natively so ya might need an add in card... and with the new usb3 spec starting to get off the ground it doesn't look good for firewire...
