    One for Pedullist

Pedullist recommended I change the rhythm and feel to this tune to give a little more soul. I liked his idea so here it is http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2716&alid=-1 Empty Spaces

    Another Original Blues song

I would have laid back on some of those riffs. The pull-offs get to be a bit much after a while. Its a cool song and I like the sound but I would have tried to groove it more, if you dig me.

    Two Songs - reviews welcome

Not sure what kind of comments you are looking for. The guitar parts are the highlight IMO. Odd verse length on the first one. Your lyric sheets must be pages long! Kind of an 80s feel to these. Nice sound but the drums do come off a little canned.

My latest Beatles tribute - ANNA!

Nice job and welcome to the good side of the force. It takes a brave man to attempt a Lennon vocal cover. An overlooked gem.

    MP3 file size envy

Yeah, you see mine all come in about 2.5-3 per 3 minute song. I don't think I'm doing myself any favors.

    MP3 file size envy

Are there different types of MP3 formats you can convert to? The files I post all have small file sizes when I compare them to files I see posted of similar time lengths. I am beginning to feel inadequate.

Help me find this song's key

Going from C to G to D I believe is called a double plagal cadence in D. I was wrong before to say that G is the tonic of D when actually the opposite is true, which might argue for G. However the plagal cadence makes me lean toward D.

So, How Bad Do We Suck?

I agree with everything WATYF said. From my perspective, I look on this forum as a place to help you make the most out of what you have. Music recorded in a shitty room, with shitty equipment by a guy with halfway decent chops, is not going to sound like OK Computer. However, there are a lot...

    first attempt at 7-string madness

Well I will qualify this by saying that I can't get into this genre at all. That being said, the guitar riff in the verse is GREAT! Really, I mean that, brilliant. The rest of it I can't stand but thats my problem. This stuff is obviously popular for some reason. To me it sounds like...

    Ahh..That feels better....

Hey, was that George Jones? Really quality songwriting in the great country tradition. Something about the drums I didn't quite like but I can't put my finger on it. Too dry? Artificial? I don't know but its the only thing I can think to say.

    More Stupidity

"the melody sticks to your shoe", thats good. "Right now on our big shoo, a singer from Manchester, England and one of the finest individuals we've had on our stage. Ladies and Gentleman, Triple M!" Girls scream, you shake your moptop, the rest is history.

a blues gift I wanna share

Was that the chick from "Great Gig in the Sky"?! Just kidding, that was real nice and I feel better already. She has exorcized my demons.

Help me find this song's key

Well it starts in D and the end phrase is G which tonicizes D. By any definition, I think this would make the song in D.

19yr old records entire album on his PC in his room....

The overall sound you have achieved is great for a home setup, no doubt about it. And you seem to have a good ear for what is on the radio today. I think the lead guitar tone was a little weak on "Thousand Lies". Could it also be a little flat? One thing I thought that needed work that I...

    Spijt (HRC with a cheat)

OK Pedullist, just when you tell me to rework my 6/8 Empty Spaces with an emphasis on the 4, you go ahead and post this baby. I actually reworked my song based on your advice and will post it soon. I don't really hear it as RnB but its very nice nonetheless. I also put in the distorted guitar...

    this song is Free!!

This is really up my alley. I dig the Beatle boogie on the major 7th chord. Lennon was a big proponent of the major 7th chord and thats why most people think Beatle when they hear it. This song is loaded with them. Great stuff, great arrangement. Can't thing of a critique, sorry. Is this a...

HRC: Gimme my damn compressor back you BASTARDS!!!

I like the quiet vibe for most of the song but when it really gets going it calls out for a little more bombast, maybe a little Queen vibe, but definitely upping the intensity.

    Mix I'm not sure about

Love Bruce, so maybe some influence showing through. I wish I had that kind of power in my lungs, but I don't.
