the "why it won't record" answer is simple enough....
When you Begin a new project and click record it starts recording at (brace yourself) 0:00:00. And for what ever reason it wont allow you to travel back in time to start recording befor 0:00:00.
Physics......
You can get some budget minded monitors for $150. I think the Alesis point 7's for example will cost between 100-150. Not the best of monitors, but a truer sound than headphones I think.
I caught a man-o-war gig in a small (seriously small) brick lined bar. I think at the time they were in the guiness book of world records as the "loudest band". I went home nearly deaf, an affliction that lasted for 3 days. So as far as big, and dangerous..... anything that screws a man up for...
My gals the best! I have 15 guitars hanging on my wall...
but when she sees me in GC with that dreamy look in my eyes as I play some slick new beast she says "honey, just buy it". She actually argues if I tell her it costs $2500 and suggests I put it on lay-away.
This year she was gonna get me...
Fretting, or rather refretting is not exactly hard..... but it is meticulous and delicate. And as far as cost goes, you will spend more on the proper tools to do it right than you would to have it done. You cant simply yank out the old fret wire and squeeze in new. You need a fret bender, tang...
I love Ibanez. But when I say that I am meaning I love the Ibanex necks and the ways they squeal. So I guess what I mean is I love Ibanez electrics. I have yet to play one of their acoustics that moves me.
You can tweak a neck back to par with slow rotations of the truss. Or take it to the...
for that matter, I am not adverse to taking a few days off either. Sometimes I frustrate the b'jesus out of myself trying to force a tune to work. A few days of leaving it the hell alone and viola! It sometimes works
No question if you are doing "covers" you need to be prepared to be flexible. If folks are dancing to a specific style and ignoring you one a different style.....well need I say more? Bars and clubs invite back bands that draw and excite the customers.
Tip: every slob in the bar will dance to...
There you have it. Already you can see that the options and opinions vary. Personally I would suggest that befor you drop a dime, that you Go with WX3's suggestion in part, and download a half dozen or so demo software programs to get a feel for things.
www.hitsquad.com is an excellent resource...
Most Harmonizers play a set note interval of the note you are playing. Example:3rd's, 5th's, octaves. It does not assume where your chord progression will go and make up a clever harmony the way a second player would, it plays a predetermined (you pick from a menu) interval of the note. Like a...
I absolutly love "Goldwav" for my vinal/cassette to CD editing. So simple and user friendly. You can download the "demo" at www.hitsquad.com.
The demo (at least the one I nabbed a couple years back) is fully functional. The only limit on it, if I recall, is that you can only use 250 mouse...
Yes the Topaz has inserts. If you use them like Pratt suggests (1/4 line "incerted" halfway) then you can run that line to the line in of your soundcard and record the signal of that single channel. However odds are that you will now want to invest in a soundcard that has multiple in's so you...
Several years back I bought a book called "Electronic Projects for Musicians" by Craig Anderton. I Set off to make a grip of different boxes. About half of them were functional by the end of it. About half of that half were practical and considered for actual use, and I think one or maybe two of...
ok, so maybe someone can clear up "continous". Or more so what it would translate to in an audio sence.
I think digital is simple enough to grasp. The source (sound or signal) is introduced, translated to data (binary numbers) and sent (through this super math code) and translated agian to...
You just described a Professional studio engineer with a three million dollar studio.
All kidding aside, finding an all in one super machine that does all that stuff with proffesional sounding results is a stretch. Studios, professional or home based are pieced together because different...
