Sorry for this noobish question, but I cannot seem to get CEP to do what I want. Let's say I record a guitar track (track 1,) but make some mistakes at the end of the recording. So, I create another track (track 2,) to replace the end of the first track. Now I have 2 tracks that I want to...
Perottol, that's perfect, thanks. I've several large keyboard/guitar tracks that I want to split into separate wavs and was looking for the fastest way to do it. I'm still learning CE Pro, there's a lot to learn and it's kind of intimidating.
Thanks again!
Okay, by panning one channel left and the other right on the mixer, I'm able to record into separate tracks. But, what if I had more instruments? Would I need additional sound cards? Like supposing I wanted to record a band using, say 4 mics. Is the sound card only able to record 1 track (1...
They're both mono. I tried moving the cable to the R input on channel 2 for the keyboard while the guitar is set to L input on channel 1. I can now record them each on their own track. The problem now is, the keybaord track is also recording the guitar instead of JUST the keyboard. In CE...
I'm still pretty new to this, so sorry if this is a dumb question. But, how can I record guitar and keyboard simultaneously on separate tracks with CE Pro? My setup is: guitar > line 1 on Behringer 802 mixer, keyboard > line 2 on mixer, then out of mixer into Audiophile 24/96. Any help would...
Yeah, but the Monitor Mixer is pre-fader, meaning it doesn't affect the actual input levels. I can look at the VU meter in Cool Edit and watch the input levels. If I mute the input or lower the faders in Monitor Mixer, it has NO effect on the input sigal that Cool Edit receives. Tha'ts my...
Jimbo, thanks for replying. But, I cannot move the slider for the input signal (the Windows Volume control, not the Audiophile mixer.) It's like it's greyed out - it will not move from where it is currently. Is that normal?
Okay, after setting up all my new gear, all seems to be working. However, I have a few questions, being new to the Audiophile card and mixer. I'm still confused about the input level. Here's what I'm doing:
- use the pre-amp gain on the mixer to get about 0db (which is almost all the way...
Glad you got it working Monkey. I think I got mine working as well. I had to put it in another machine, (luckily I had a spare PC I wasn't using,) but it's working now. No matter what I tried I could not get it to work in the other machine. Oh well, it's sounding great now!
I'm wondering if my problem is perhaps driver related. The reason is, if I launch WinAmp and try to play an mp3, it just sits there. The song never even plays. If I change the playback device to my Soundblaster, it plays normally. If it were a speaker or cable problem, you'd expect the song...
There is a L and R input on my sound card. I was asking if, when I record 2 separate guitar tracks (IE, not simultaneosly,) if I should record one in the L jack and one in the R jack. But, I think it doesn't matter, as you can pan with software later on. Thanks.
My setup is guitar amp > sm57 > behringer UB802 > Audiophile 24/96. The inputs work great but I cannot get sound out of the card's outputs. I have RCA to 1/8" converter attached to ouputs then my PC speakers plug into them. I've made sure , "recording device," and "playback device," is set...
Re: same subject...outputs
I too just got a 24/96 and I can't seem to get output. I got a RCA to 1/8" converter and I'm plugging my PC speakers into it but get no sound. How do you get sound out??
I have a similar question. If you want to record 2 guitar tracks only (at separate times, not at the same time,) should you record one left and one right? Or does it really matter? I mean, it's still a mono signal, right?
