CWPA9, Soundblaster Live! and no SoundFonts?

I've previously had CWPA9 and my hardware installed with Win 2000 and using soundfonts. Installed XP and *BAM* the soundfonts don't want to work anymore. (boggle) This a problem with the driver in XP or is there something else that i'm missing?

    Two songs for review

Hahah... yes`sah! I don't agree with it, but it's nice to hear. ;) There are so many people out there that can play. I just keep striving to do my best and I know it would sound much better if I had some theory under my belt (Keys, scales, etc...). Mainly I just play by ear and if it doesn't...

    your honest opinion please

LOL, it's all good. Least you all were sure to stay warm in the basement. ;) Sounds great! Just drop me a PM and let me know. I'll jump in and have a listen. You can try a program call Audacity that is quite nice and freeware. The cool thing about this is the quick, down and dirty editing...

    Two songs for review

Thanks guys. Nothing like hearing those kinds of comments on a chilly Texas morning. :) Cosmic: Elmore James? LOL, C'mon now... That's quite a compliment and I really just consider myself just a back porch pickin average guitar player that gets lucky every now and again. ;) squicklid: Yeah...

13 reads and no comments? I'm sure that there are some people that can give some good critique out there. Just asking for some input. ;) Thanks in advance...

    Pro Choice.....

Hmmm, the only difference (as it sounds) is the drummer and perhaps 'how' he is playing. I know that hitting the heads in different locations can cause different sounds. Perhaps this is what he is doing to make it not sound right?

    your honest opinion please

First thing is consider the enviorment. If it's a basement with sheetrock your sound is not going to be absorbed by anything. Carpet is not enough being just on the floor. I don't know your age or if this is something possible. The reason i'm saying this is, if it's your parents house, they may...

    Pro Choice.....

Kind of sounds like the snare is set between full snare and tom (forgive my lack of terms, i'm not a drummer) lol. Maybe different mic position on the snare may help out. Overall good sound though.

    A Little Holiday Cheer...

Sounds very good. Thanks for the recording.

    Same song, Two Versions

The rock version sounded a bit country (imho). I wasn't able to really sit down and put a lot of time into listening. I will give it more attention though. Overall, nice sound and very clean.

I wasn't sure on putting two threads or not, so I'll just make both songs on one (typing conservation). Harp Roll (12/09/04) -- I recorded this rythm a while ago and just started harp about a month back. I came upon this rythm and decided "Hey! Let's throw some harp and see if I can make it...

    Tom Blues

Very well done Tom! Guitar is kind of back too far when playing the lead, not by much though. I would bring it up just a hair, but it sounds very good. Great job and keep up the good work.

    your honest opinion please

Sounds like the recording wasn't very well done. For a demo you should spend the small studio fee (mostly around $25.00 / hr for small mom and pop places) and get some good recordings of the drums and bass. Everything sounded too far off like the whole band was in a tin can. As far as the...

    Check out this tune.

Have to agree with Doink. The chorus vocals (esp in the first set) needs to come up. Other than that, very well done. Has kind of a Green Day feel to it. Keep up the good work...

    Cakewalk Pro Audio 9/Windows XP

I've found no problems with XP Pro and CWPA9. The only trouble that I've personally had was that the SB Live! Value was not seen though installed with the correct drivers. Also, this happens with the SB Audigy 2. Soundfonts are non-active on either machine. /boggle Anywho, Windows ME (as said...

Bah, the click is back! [MR-8]

Song link included featuring the click track ;) Yep, I checked that. Made sure the click level was set to off. That's really the only gripe I have about the MR-8. Other than that the ease of use and functionality is amazing. I placed the song "Down N' Blue" on my website. There is mainly a...

Bah, the click is back! [MR-8]

Hey guys, Been a while since I posted on here. Been busy with life and some more lessons. I recorded a slow blues tune with my dobro and used the click track for timing. I went back and turned the click track off and (D'Oh!) the click is still there. I think the trick (least in the old days)...

    mr8 beeping

Hmmmm, this seems reasonable. I'll have to give this a try and see if it resolves the beeping on mine as well. Perhaps just a glitch where it doesn't realize it's off. ;)
