The right thing to do is what sounds good to you! You could off-centre the snare slightly left/right in the mix to mimic more closely the snare's position in the kit, but really, go with what you like. As far as reverbs, again it's a personal choice, but very generally, snare has it's own...

I can't talk from personally hearing them, but some colleagues opinions I trust (backed up by opinions at RAP - rec.audio.pro) really feel they fall short of the 1030/31/32 series. If you want the ultimate - you want Meyer HD-1s... (5K a pair though!) ;) Bruce

I did get the regular text one - they're both "Chevy Style", but the control text on one is "car-related" (acceleration - meaning "gain") and the normal-styled version has the same text as on the RNC controls. Bruce

Re: jazz/blues Not with JBjr pickups you wouldn't! They don't allow for that mellow, smooth, clean jazz sound - they are definitely geared toward a harder sound - they're quite hot.
