now if only i could find the slightest bit of information about the c1000b, i'd be SET! haha... sounds like that's probably it, though. if you get a chance to ask your singer and make sure that's the model number, it'd be awesome. i can't find any info on that model number, which is weird...
no, it wasn't that one. that's a great mic, though!
if you've seen a c1000s, it's long and round, except like half of it is flattened on the side. kinda hard to explain i guess...
hmm...
thanks guys.
.pete.
wow, i can't believe i didn't think of that. i mean, wait... um.... duh.
if that was an option, i would've done it.
i'm not asking random people on the internet to go to a coffee house for me. it's called twiggs, in san diego, though, in case someone else from SD has played there...
hey all....
i played at this coffee house here in san diego last week, and the vocal mic was just perfect for me. however, i was so happy with it that i got all into my set, and completely forgot to check what mic it was.
anyway, it looked kinda like a c1000s, but it was black, with no...
WOW... Thanks! i don't feel nearly so bad now....
That was the most helpful response i could've gotten. my mixes may suck, but at least i'm not selling out to the square wave man!

Hey all.
I'm going crazy here. I look at wav's from pro CDs, and they are, like, flat... all the same level all the time. right? so when i get done mixing a song, and some minor compression or limiting, i get nothing but dynamics. even though it sounds fine to my ear, it doesn't look...
well, the reason i didn't want to go with Hosa is because i am permanently on the move.
I record some things at my mom's house, some stuff here at mine, some stuff in the tracking room at a local studio, and some live shows for local artists.
so i have to be able to break down and reset...
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent snake. I need something inexpensive I can run out to Guitar Center and pick up. (ie: not like a website I can order from.)
I just have no idea what brands are decent for the money. I obviously wanna stay away from Hosa, but their prices are...
dammit, the board won't let me edit my last message.
Do not think ill of Jim. He's explained to me what happened on his end, and we're taken care of. He even bought a brand new mic at the store and is shipping it out to replace the lost one.
So, I take back anything negative i've said about...
yeah, man, it's nice down here. but some of my best times have been in SF, so i spose the grass is always greener. haha...
i'll give the compressor a go.
thanks,
.pete.
ps - i heard something you did a while ago as a b1 example on acoustic, and it was awesome. never got around to posting...
now, if someone could just tell me how to mic the damn acoustic with as little picking noise as possible... haha...
i'm so jealous, robertt. i've been trying to find a good way to not hear the picking noise all this time.
.pete.
haha... yeah, no problem. i mean, wait... most of it's not actually mine.
my friends all just loan me stuff the day before it dies. has absolutely nothing to do with me.
nothing.
haha...
yeah.
.pete.
ps - are you in a band or anything here in SD?
i've got an m8 sitting in my bedroom that has been on loan to me until this saturday. i used it once. then the phantom power decided to stop working.
HOWEVER... it's a great mixer, and i was gonna buy one until this happened. but it's probably a total fluke.
and the pre-amps sound really...
okay, i totally love this song. really.
thanks for posting it. it's going into my playlist and on my next mix CD for my friends.
well done.
.pete.
ps - got more? when's the CD gonna be done?
until you can afford a new soundcard, use the noise reduction in CEP.
just highlight a section of the wav with nothing on it (except noise.) then open up the NR plug. click "get profile from selection" (i think that's what it says.) then click cancel. then highlight the whole wav. then go...
because it sucks. i was just hoping that there would be a good free one. guess not.
it's all good, i mean i can still use the one that came with Sonar, just thought it'd be nice to not have to switch programs. The Cakewalk one is unavailable in CEP. blow monkey.
.pete.
hey guys.
i'm really poor, so i like to use free stuff when available.
i was hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of a free directx plugin. i need a decent compressor to use for final mix compression.
anybody know of one? i like the Sonar compressorX, but it'd be...
