Well i did some experimenting in Cooledit, and if I UNCHECK the "try as WDM" under device properties for the layla ins 1-2 and outs 1-2 i dont get pops.
So if cooledit isn't using WDM, I'm not sure what that means it is using, but does this indicate that it is the ASIO drivers? I have the...
Okay, tried the PCI latency adjustment program and it didn't make any difference. Took out the only other PCI card I have in my PC, my wireless network card...and still got clicks with just the Layla3g in there.
I have a pretty heavy duty graphics card for gaming (GeForce 6800) could that be...
I'll give his PCI latency program a shot...in the meantime, here is a short clip of my korg ms2000 that exhibits the kind of clicks i'm getting...all levels were low when i recorded it and there was no clipping coming into the card. http://www.geocities.com/rayjonesspecial/clicks.mp3
Hopefully somebody can help me...I'm using my Layla3G with my pretty new PC setup (Athlon 64 3000+, 512mb RAM, etc.) and when recording into nuendo I get little pops and clicks in the sound...
I have adjusted the buffers all over, and they are still there. I checked the IRQ settings, and it...
The performance is great...the guitar sound could use a little tweaking -is it an acoustic electric that you plugged in? If so, it would benefit from also mic'ing it if possible to get a broader frequency spectrum...it's mostly highs to my ears. the vocal...maybe a little less reverb and boost...
I had that problem with half the keyboard on my old Korg X5D after a band member...er...FORMER band member spilled a generous helping of budweiser all over the top two octaves.
I pulled off the rubber pad, soaked the pad and used a toothbrush to clean off the circuit board and it worked good...
I've been using the new Layla 3G for a few weeks and have loved it...however, I got a Korg MS2000R off of ebay that came yesterday, and while recording it in Cubase thru the Layla, I noticed...not distortion but just little "ticks" in the sound. My levels were all very low, no clipping...
I would try posting this in the computer forum...probably more folks that could help you out. It's been a while since I used battery so i can't remember about modifying the original cells, but I used to map each sound to its own input in the cubase mixer and then mix and tweak them individually...
Yea I got Layla3G a few weeks ago and it's runnin smooth as butter. It's a great unit! I was worried it might not be compatible with the NForce3 chipset because I called ECHO and they said they had not tested it yet, but it works fine. The sound is just as good if not better than my old MOTU...
well, if u get a no name case it will probly come with a shitty power supply. I went name brand with an Antec case that has served me very well. If you want to go "pimp my pc" style for not a ton of money check out this case...
lol, okay thanks for the advice, fellas. I think MS is indeed trying to use us to work out their bugs...the site says that the software is only active for 365 days...then I guess it's "thanks for helping us work out the kinks...now go buy it."
I recently put in a new mobo and Athlon 64 3000+ chip, and my motherboard came with a voucher for a free download or CD of Windows XP 64bit...which I assume is still in the beta stages.
It looks like you can download it here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/evaluation/upgrade.mspx and...
Great to hear!
Thanks for the reply on this...since having problems with my MOTU 2408 and my new Athlon 64 system not playing friendly together I stuck the MOTU on ebay and snagged a new Layla3G on ebay for $419 with free shipping...it's not here yet but I'm excited! Hopefully it will not have...
Thanks for the kind words guys! I would like to get an album done of songs in this vein, and am kind of recording as I write...using the PC as a compositional tool if you will. So I want to get the mixes close and will probably perfect them when all of the writing is in place. I will keep...
the performance and overall mix sounds good...I agree you could take some of the reverb off of the vocals. Especially on the 'esses' the amount of reverb becomes evident. I would probably bump up te vocals a little bit too. Did you use much compression on the vocals or guitar? I would...
Very solid mixes you got there, sol. back off these strings is my favorite...it's dramatic but not to a fault. the strings sound tight. keep up the good work bro.
