    FMR RNP 8380 PreAmp

I'll second Eric....the RNP is probably the BEST bang for your buck at that price point. I have an RNC and RNP and use them for pretty much everything. I did a lot of reading before going with the RNP, since it is my only nice preamp...and I've been really happy with the results. You're gonna...

    Electro newb

I really dig the Justice sound too...You'll find that with that type of stuff, the MIX becomes really really important. Their sound is REALLY compressed and hard-limited, with liberal use of distortion as well, to dirty up those stock samples, make them HIT and sound larger than life. A good...

    MBox with PT M-powered?

Yea, he's trying to find his LE discs...in the meantime I was hoping it would work w/ M-powered. Thx for the info.

    MBox with PT M-powered?

I have to mixdown some tracks for a friend's band. One of the guys has PT M-powered, but lent his M-audio box to a friend. Another guy in the band has an old MBox. Will the Mbox work with Pro Tools Mpowered? Or will it only recognize M-Audio devices? Thx!

Thriller by way of Daft Punk

thx! The sounds (except gtr) are actually all from Steinberg's Hypersonic 2. The "nasty" is courtesy of the Waldorf D-Pole filter plugin =). I ran the drums and lead synths through the D-Pole to dirty them up with a little distortion and bit reduction...I wanted to sidechain compress with the...

Thriller by way of Daft Punk

This little track started with me just playing around with some VST's and trying to get that cool pitch modulated lead sound from the chorus of P.Y.T. Somewhere along the way, it turned into a hard, dirty, dance remix that kind of reminds me of Daft Punk. Usually I'm more of a rock or acoustic...

Decided it was a bit tinny and remixed a little...hard to tell on my Events...they have hardly any bass...

did this Counting Crows Cover today...

Hey all, haven't been on here for a while, but I was bored today and recorded an acoustic version of Counting Crows "Daylight Fading". If you have a sec, check out the mix, and feel free to give any opinions/advice...it's far from perfect. What I've been having trouble with lately is EQ...I...

Can Audiophile 2496 patch to itself?

I need to order a couple cheap soundcards for 3 work computers... I want them to be able to record OUT of Winamp and INTO a different software program on the same computer. (I work in radio and the automation software that we run all of our music and commercials off of is extremely antiquated...

    Avril Lavigne Mashup/Remix =)

Just a minor time stretch on the one in left channel if i remember correctly...did it about a year ago. And no, it's nothing really unusual in the pop music arena. Though it is kind of entertaining working in radio where we've got so many eager label reps coming in touting so-and-so's...

    Avril Lavigne Mashup/Remix =)

Not sure if anybody else ever came across that Nickelback file that was circulating the internet a while back where someone put their first single in the left channel of an mp3 and their second single in the right channel...it was really well mixed, and the songs were basically identical...

    Problem with MIDI

I've had this problem...if the notes are getting carried back *exactly* to the bars (quantizing) then I would say you have autoquantize on. However, sometimes there's a problem with the 'emulated' ports where cubase will 'see' extra ports or something like that and the midi signal will be...

    Nuendo/Cubase: Applying Inserts Permantly

You can, however go into "offline process history" (I think its under the audio tab when you have something selected) and it will show you every process that you applied to that clip...you can then undo or disable each process individually. So at least if you put an effect on that you decide...

Can't hear my new midi keyboard controller. Advice please!

Don't worry about the general midi (GM) sounds...they're just the standardized sounds, and usually pretty crappy compared to what you can get out of VST instruments. As far as downloading VSTs, I don't know any sites offhand, but I found this thread that has a bunch of links...

Can't hear my new midi keyboard controller. Advice please!

once you have a midi signal coming into the MIDI track, hit F11. This will bring up your 'virtual instrument' rack. Click on one of the empty boxes, and select one of the virtual instruments included with cubase...this could be the lm7 drum machine, a synthesizer, whatever. Once you have...

    AMD 64 Athlon and windows

I've got an athlon 64 3000+ running winxp home great! There are 64bit OS's out there and in the works, but the 64 bit chips run fine with 32bit operating systems like windows xp just fine.

Clicking, Popping, with Layla3G I've tried EVERYTHING!

Yea nuendo only will use ASIO drivers. I found out when I unplug the MIDI in cable from the Korg, the pops in the incoming audio go away...they usually occur when i turn a knob and it sends midi info in. Anyway, I installed my midisport 2x2 instead of using the Layla's onboard MIDI and for...

Clicking, Popping, with Layla3G I've tried EVERYTHING!

Okay NO CLICKS with the WDM drivers in cooledit, but i wanna use nuendo!! And it seems I can only use the ASIO drivers in nuendo...are there any other options? It has to be a driver issue no?

Clicking, Popping, with Layla3G I've tried EVERYTHING!

I'm using winXP home, with an athlon 64 on an MSI K8N neo motherboard...a setup that until now has been nothing but stable and reliable. I dont run a bunch of crap in the background...and I have tried a couple of the tweaks from musicxp.net but my pc is pretty darn quick and i dont really think...
