This little track started with me just playing around with some VST's and trying to get that cool pitch modulated lead sound from the chorus of P.Y.T. Somewhere along the way, it turned into a hard, dirty, dance remix that kind of reminds me of Daft Punk. Usually I'm more of a rock or acoustic guy, but I kinda dig how this came out...think I got the synth sound too...or close enough =) Check it out!
The sounds (except gtr) are actually all from Steinberg's Hypersonic 2. The "nasty" is courtesy of the Waldorf D-Pole filter plugin =). I ran the drums and lead synths through the D-Pole to dirty them up with a little distortion and bit reduction...I wanted to sidechain compress with the kick, but putting it through the filter with the lead instruments seemed to duck them a bit anyway when the kick hit.
