    gulp...here goes!

This is one of the better(withstanding the drums) songs-Fill the Space-I've heard on this BBS. I too suffer from unimaginative drum track syndrome. It takes bookoo time to try and make fake drums sound real and the end result typically sounds fake despite one's best efforts. I think I am...

    Guitar sounds too raw.

The easiest and quickest way I know of to make a guitar sound become smoother is to double the take and split the two tracks hard left and hard right.

    Jitteringjim's latest acoustic assault

Very nice sound. I thought the mix was perfect for the song. What kind of acoustic are you using? It sounds very clear and full through the mic. The song is good too; I enjoy the minimalist sound..it really fits the color of the tune. dmc

    DrStawl adds a vocal track

Very interesting work. Were you mad at your cat when you wrote this? I like it. It seems like it would have been a challenge to make the vocals mesh well with the rest of the tune but you pulled it off quite nicely. dmc

how do i add to a track and make it smooth?

I've never used n-track, so I don't know if it allows you to drag a track onto another to create a crossfade between the two. This is what I do in Vegas and it's pretty seamless. It allows you to graphically determine the rate of fade-in/fade-out for each track. You can also graphically...

    horrible buzzing

Skyline609: Could be a truss rod problem. Answer me this: have you switched to a different gauge of strings lately, or before you noticed the buzzing? See, if you change string gauges you also change the tension on the neck - for which the truss rod is there to provide compensation. This can...

    Pop my cherry

Brad: I don't know which encoder you are using, but there are noticeable differences in sound quality between them, even at the same bitrate. I use scmpx (free, small download) and I don't encode at anything less than 192. 192kbps seems to be just out of reach of the warble. dmc

S8-N: Your mixes are getting noticeably better with each post. I enjoyed this song-I really liked the rythym guitar part. Though, I think the bass needs to be a little louder in the mix; it seems to kinda get lost behind the guitar..maybe competing for the same frequency as something else...

    Pop my cherry

Brad: I like that pretty well. I could envision (is there no word analagous to envision for hearing?) it as music behind a wrestling promo on the radio. You could definitely use some better samples (hihat) for that drum machine, but they're easy enough to come by. The mix sounded pretty...
