    Custom guitar shapes

I've talked to people who've dealt with Ed Roman and everyone of them have said that it's not worth the hassle of dealing with him. I think the Jackson Custom Shop is in Texas (correct me if I'm wrong)... anyway they make extremely high quality guitars... the cost depends on how elaborate...

CD Update & The Next CD - 12/20/00

Slack... that's what I was trying to say, maybe I didn't get my point across too well... have one date for everything. I think it's the most effective way to do it... then really all that has to be done is the artwork which didn't really take that long to between S8-N and yourself when this...

CD Update & The Next CD - 12/20/00

One way to prevent some of the delay would be just to simply say... I need your song, artwork, copyright forms or whatever else all by the same set date... those who can't meet the deadline miss out... give the date out maybe 3 months in advance or something to give people some time to get...

Slackmaster2K is the man to see about this... it's apparently on the way... from what I remember there are a few people on this BB who are talented to play and record whole songs but not able to fill in a simple copyright form... :D

Thanks for listening James and gibs... I've listened to the CD I burned of this on two different stereos at home and on tape in the car and the low end pumps... if anyone has any other suggestions for mp3 encoders that work half decent at 128 or 160kbps please let me know. All the drums are...

    Working to a deadline...

Thanks for taking a listen... about the low end... I only listened to the mp3 through my crappy computer speakers before uploading it so it was hard to know how much low end was there... I was just looking at the freq spectrum of the mp3 on Winamp and you are right... there isn't very much low...

Background Info: Three weeks ago I was sent the forms for the 2001 WA Song Contest... the deadline for entries being tomorrow! I've spent all my spare time over the last week getting this song together to enter.. I was up until 1.30am last night (had to be at uni at 9.00am this morning) mixing...

    WIRING...HELP!!!!

A tele has a three way pickup selector doesn't it? You don't need two switches to turn each pick up on and off... your pick up selector already does that... to bypass your volume and tone it's simply a case of running a piece of shielded cable from your pickup selector to your jack... do you...

    Cables...

If anyone could tell me if they've experimented with the wire actually in their guitar I'd appreciate it. Surely this must make some difference too... do Monster Cable make coax cable to wire your guitar out with???

    Marshall Jcm900 SLX

To get the best out of it you'll need it a bit louder than bedroom volume, but what you could do if it's possible is have all your recording gear in separate room to where the amp is... close the doors between the rooms and run the wires under the doors... that way you could crank it a bit more...

    string to pickup alignment

What kinda of bridge do you have on your Strat?? I recently put in a new bridge pickup in my guitar - a Seymour Duncan JB - this comes in two models... an SH-4 and a TB-4 - the latter is a bridge pick up model especially built to deal with the wider string spacing found on Floyd Rose trems...

    Headphones

The Green Hornet - maybe "Walking Beyer 250 Advertisement" is a more suitable title :D As is always the case in headphone threads I'll suggest Sony MDR7506's, The Green Hornet suggests the 250's and we do nothing but confuse the hell out of the person asking the question ;) Answer: If you...

    trombone micing

I could be mistaken but if you watch Late Night with Conan O'Brien the band on there use AT 4033's for trumpet, trombone and sax. It always pays to keep an eye out on shows like these to see what the pro's use... if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for us. Just another useless fact...

How to mic up a drum kit!

That picture is of a professional, fairly well know band who recently have been in the studio recording some stuff... that picture appeared on their website and I thought 'cool, look at all those mics and all that cable'. I have enough problems de-tangling my few cables at home... I can't...

How to mic up a drum kit!

http://members.iinet.net.au/~cooperft/drums.jpg Any body care to play name that mic??? It's hard to see most of them but obviously they are using 421's on toms... anyone with any ideas on the overheads??? It's also interesting to see how the bass drums are mic'd - a mic inside as well as one...
