maybe, maybe not. i just got a 40gb 7200rpm western digital from best buy today for $126.22 after tax. you might be able to find something a little cheaper, but you will definitely need a 7200rpm drive. slower drives won't be able to support higher track counts. installation is a snap as long as...
if you feel like you need a core 2 then by all means get one, but if knew then what i do now i would have spent a little more on a better card. the biggest hassle with the core 2 is the crappy drivers, and with the core 2 discontinued i'm not expecting any updates. the daughter board is a cool...
what i do is use the mixdown feature in cakewalk and create a wave file, and then use xing audio catalyst to encode the wave file to mp3. cakewalk has an mpe codec, but mine never works right for me, and i've been using audio catalyst for a long time so i trust it.
i think ez coaster creater was MUCH better when it was made by adeptec, but once roxio took over it just went to a whole new level of coaster creation. i've been using nero for several months now and friggin love it.
are you thinking about buying one or do you have one already? if you're thinking about one don't. if you have one already than be prepared to be friggin agro like the rest of us suckers who have one. the card itself is ok but the drivers are a real pain most of the time, and lexicon no longer...
well, it could be worse. i actually did do a recording this weekend that i'm somewhat happy with. just an acid drum loop and 6 tracks of guitar :)
will do the rest as soon as i can
Does anyone but me still use the lexicon core 2 sound card?
Officially the core 2 drivers only support Win 95/98, but I was wondering if anyone had tried them on ME yet. I'm sick to friggin death of 98 and want to upgrade but I can't afford a new sound card yet.
I use a 79 Les Paul Standard w/Dimarzio X2N
Dunlop Crybaby(used sparingly)
Boss Supershifter
MXR Phase 90(used sparingly)
Zoom 1010(a couple of delays for clean tones)
A Marshall JCM 900 Dual Reverb 50w w/70's salt & pepper grill cab
I play heavier lower tune music. Kinda similar to Tool...
I knew someone who did Reiki a while back. She worked on my ankle when I broke it. It was an interesting experience and I think it might be worth a try. I have moderate-severe nerve pain in my left hand sometimes and what I do is take vitamin B6. I used to take 100mg everyday and never had a...
I have a Marshall JCM 900 and I want to record some guitar parts. The problem is that I live in an apartment so turning the amp up isn't much of an option so I figured I would just do some direct recording to get my song ideas down. If my amp has a "Recording Compensated" output and a "Direct...
I just found this string yesterday and dear god it has got to be the most intense well of information I have ever found. I'm only about halfway through it, but I just had to ask something.
Harvey, are you very close to Austin? I would looooooooove to come to and hang out with you for a day or...
I looked @ a couple of mixers last night(mackie, alesis) in about the $500 range. I have a few friends that have behringer boards and have had really good luck with them and swear they'll never go back to mackie again. Of course they spent about 3x what I can afford for their boards. Don'tcha...
I've been doing a little research and since I do need mic pres, I will be recording drums, and I do have 2 condensor mics that need phantom power I guess I have to go ahead and get a mixer. But then theres the wonderful fun of making sure I have everything EQed right before I record. The more I...
