hey,
i'm looking for this noise u hear on certain songs, which actually sounds like a feedback loop in recording.. lol. it's most probably called something else, and that would be what i want to know, what is it
here's a sample of such a thing in case u don't know what i mean...
dude, ur stuff isnt bad. the recordings are, but then most of the ppl who reply to u here r recording nerds, so they will tell u different things than someone who just listens to music. (if it was like my cousin says, my recordings sound as good as "normal cds" lol)
but u definitely got some...
hey, i have kind of an off topic question, sorry for posting it here but i dont know any place for "homefilming" lol :)
a friend of mine and his mates recently tried themselves on doing short amateur films and stuff. and well the audio of the camcorder obviously sucks for picking up voice, so...
thanks alot for ur offer, picostudios, but like i said this was my first time trying to program drums with just the best sounding samples i could find at that time. next time i will b able to punch in midi drums and eventually work on emulating an overhead "character".. this mix here is actually...
dont worry i can take honest critique ;)
first of all, i know it doesnt have much to do with "punk" and whatever ppl relate to this word, all i do is make music i like to listen to, and that is most often labelled as "pop-punk". i'm not a punk, i'm not interested in "being" anyone, but i have...
thanks garry!
damn i didnt know they start at a low price like this!
i just looked at some and noticed that it doesnt say what exactly the given DI is good for - if i have one DI does that mean i can use it for my bass, mic, and whatever else needs boosting? i always thought that u need...
yes, i use a computer..
i know that i wont get a great sound this way, i just have absolutely no clue of DI's, nor about mixing bass.. but the music i record is fast and has heavily distorted guitars, so the bass doesnt have to b super sounding, just the attack(?) of a hit string coming through...
thanks for the comments!
yup i know and that is what it gets.. as i said i'm neither satisfied with the vocals, nor with the mix. as soon as i have proper vox i will try myself at this song again and be able to offer a better version (confident, aren't i? )
i think the title says it all, if u have this bass u probably know what i mean.
it fills out the bottom end of my mixes ok (so it sounds to me, anyway) - but it has absolutely no punch, its just growling really.
now i'm not far from the worst bass player in the world, but i dont think its just...
i'm a newbie at midi myself, but i'm guessing that u use the soundcard which came with ur pc? well, that one is ok for playing back the annoying sounds of windows, but not for (semi-)professional music creation.
ESPECIALLY for midi u need a proper soundcard, midi is digitial information which...
a provider EVERYONE should know:
http://surpasshosting.com
only saying it starts at 2GB space and 30GB traffic for like $5 a month.. they've just doubled space and traffic on all accounts, INSANE!
i've been with alot of guys and only been disappointed until i found them, best service...
CDex is what i use, its good.
as for playing them i would recommend winamp - version 2 preferably cause u most likely dont want to play ur video files and the other useless features version 3 comes with
thanks! :D
after more listening i recognized that the bass is too low, and the drums sound really flat after all.
for drums i used just freeware sample sounds i got from various places, and the nifty small program leafDrums.
getting into midi tho to achieve more human sounding drums..
thanks kylosius :)
you're not the first one to say that hehe.. i know it's long, which is actually unlike me, i rather dislkie most long songs because most of them tend to get boring.
however, i am in the process of making a shorter version, which i planned to do anyway, thanks for ur comment.
thanks! i didnt know a sampler can trigger midi. its pretty confusing cause something that was usually just a keyboard to me can be either a controller, sampler, workstation, actually just a keyboard, etc.. lol
hey i'm just getting into midi, because i want more realistic drums than i get when programming them (cant record real ones, anyway).
so there was finally a reason to get smart about midi, well here's where i got:
as far as i understood it i would only need a midi controller (say, a small...
