Your Vote for the Next Guitar God

I did a quick search of his site, as well as the links, but I couldn't find any samples. Do you have a few you can post?

Your Vote for the Next Guitar God

We all know someone that we think is a killer on the axe... but is either undiscovered or little known. Let's give them a little sunlight! Post a little of their work for the world to hear! Here's a few short clips from a friend of mine, Rusty Cooley: For shredding...

    Low cost microphones???

Damn, clayrock... I just realized my post was of absolutely no value to you, as a newbie. Get the Shure SM57 used, like the others said. Cheap mics can't handle the Sound Pressure Level of a cranked up guitar cabinet, so it's not that particular mic... it's the model. Better start shopping...

    Musician's Advocate: What a joke!

I catch your drift, but when I send the money... my part of the transaction IS OVER. When the seller sends the item, as advertised, and it is received... their part of the transaction is over. I've even had sellers tell me that they won't post feedback until I do first... to which I give them...

    Musician's Advocate: What a joke!

I just noticed that apparently Musician's Advocate on eBay is kinda like a few other sellers that I have learned to resent there. They don't seem to want to post any feedback for you, the buyer, until after you post feedback for them... the seller. What a load of crap. If I win an auction...

    Musician's Advocate: What a joke!

Gotta agree, Lou. I run a small business, too (real estate)... and I do kinda pick and choose who my clients will be. If I feel the client is unreasonable, I will pass on the business. I don't need the headache. Years ago, when working in retail, I would verbally "throw" customers out of the...

    Low cost microphones???

I can't help you with that Peavey mic... But it sounds disturbing that an 11 year old is operating yard equipment. I hope he's more careful with a lawn mower than he is in his choice of microphones.:)

    How often do youchange strings?

It's a fairly common practice. Nothing crazy when you're a broke musician trying to save some cash. It really does breathe life back into some dull strings. Toki might have a good alternative, although I don't see 212 degrees as anything that a piece of steel can't handle.

Everyone buy the Studio Projects C1

I don't know about lately, but my take on Peavey in the past went like this: If it wasn't a bass guitar, or a CS-800 power amp... then I wouldn't own a Peavey anything. :D I remember buying into their specs on the DECA power amps. I tried for a couple of days to make those sorry amps push...

    What's your dream guitar?

But I would love one of these, as well.

    What's your dream guitar?

Here's a small Martin for you. I've got a 1953 O-15, but it's nowhere as clean as this. Great little guitar, too. I was about 7 years old when my grandfather and I went to a pawn shop and picked it up for $100. It has a few hairline cracks (just like when we bought it) but the action is still...

    What's your dream guitar?

But my all-time favorite is this 12 string.

    What's your dream guitar?

P.S. He hits notes that you wouldn't believe could be hit without a pitch shifter. BTW, you could always learn to play some really cool bass riffs with a 9... just to piss off your guitarist.:D

    What's your dream guitar?

Re: !!!!! Look at it this way... Can you play 4 strings better than two? If basses always had 5,6,7,8 or.. jeez 9 strings... wouldn't you be used to it? I've got a friend that started on a 6 string guitar. When he saw Steve Vai's 7, he had to have one. Now he's got an 8, and he said the...
