I'm looking for a set of monitors than will translate my mixes very well, and not give me listening fatigue.
I'm leaning towards the KRK V8's.
Tell me how good they are.
I never compress drummachines to even out the dynamics, but it's great sculpture the sound of the entire kit. You can make the kick snappier, make the cymbals suck in and out etc.
A good sounding compressor can make miracles with a drummachine, making it sounds more like the real thing.
I'm pretty sure I read somewehre in the manual that when someone makes a move like that, there's risk of physically damaging the drive. Not just the content. Something about the head that reads the disk or something.

Since the RNC and RNP are 1/3 rack width, it's a no-brainer to figure out that we can expect at least one more unit in that size. What would make the strip complete ? A RNEQ of course. It's coming.
I've recorded a lot of tracks with my TLM103 lately - no shockmount. I can tell you, when someone walks in the next room, it sounds like T-Rex from the Jurassic Park movies in the control room speakers.
When we hit rec, no one was allowed to move.

Just bought a Beyer M88TG used, for about $150. Should arrive next week. :) As I understand, this mic is good for vocals, brass, kick & guitar amp, and I will try it out on all of those.
