    Can't restart HS2004 w/o rebooting

Thanks Dachay. After your post, I started looking at things that were being shared and I ended up discovering that the problem has something to do with the Dyad Dxi Sampler. The bug only occurs when I have Dyad loaded into FL, regardless of whether it is loaded in HS. Edirol and Dreamstation...

    Can't restart HS2004 w/o rebooting

Thanks for the suggestion but I did install the patch.

    Can't restart HS2004 w/o rebooting

After spending five and a half hours clearing off my hard drive, reformatting, and reinstalling everything, guess what??? It didn't fix the problem. I have found that I can open Task Manager/Processes and "end process" the CWHS.exe file and then start HS w/o rebooting. CWHS is left running...

    Can't restart HS2004 w/o rebooting

Great Crap Almighty! All of the sudden, if I am using HS with Fruity Loops as a DXi and shutdown HS2004xl, I can't open HS again unless I reboot. No error message, just no response to my click. I recently tried disabling ACPI mode, a failed experiment, it wouldn't let me start XP except in safe...

    Sampling for Home Studio 2004

Dyad uses Soundfont files (.sf2). I'm very ignorant about these things, but I don't see any mention of wave files in the Dyad manual. I don't know how to go about making Soundfount files from wavefiles, but it seems like that would be a thing for you to research. BTW, right-click on the Dyad...

    Can HS2204xl slave to midi?

Thanks, I've never heard of Hubis before. However, it doesn't seem like there's anything in HS's documentation that mentions it being able to recognize midi start or SPP and I have found that it definitely doesn't recongize MTC. It seems like a pretty basic function to be missing. You should...

    Can HS2204xl slave to midi?

Thanks, Moskus. Yes, FL slaves to HS just fine, but it would be nice if HS would slave also. Sometimes I'll want to have tracks recorded in both and work with the FL interface while still hearing the tracks recorded in HS. I can hit play in HS and then jump to FL but that's kind of kludgey.

    Can HS2204xl slave to midi?

Am I blind? I'm trying to find how to make HS slave to midi sync. I'm running FL as a DXi plug-in and hoping to be able to get the HS tracks to run when I start the sequence within FL. Just out of curiousity, is this something I could do with Sonar? Bill

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

I've have the full non-demo version now and I'm off work today and tomorrow! I've made a few changes to my tutorial as I've found better ways to do things. I just figured out how to use my keyboard to record live into FL, it just keeps getting better.

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

In HS: Insert>DXi Synth>IL>Multi Fl Studio Dxi (not sure why that one drop-down says IL instead of FL, but it does) This opens a small window with FL logo. Click on Logo, opens FL Make a few channel/instruments in FL's Step Sequencer Click on the Channel button (with the name of inst. on...

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

Steven, Thanks but I got it working the way it's supposed to, as a plug-in with the separate channels routed live to the tracks in Cakewalk. When mixdown time comes around, you can just bounce-to-track in Cakewalk to convert the individual tracks to wave tracks. This is so cool, being able to...

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I just got the FL multi-tracks working. As usual, the solution was just too obvious for me to see. This is amazing to me, how these two programs work together, I think my Tascam 788 might be up for sale pretty soon.

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

It's supposed to be a fully functional demo, with the exception of saving. I'm probably just missing something, I'm off work today so I can spend some time with it.

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

Thanks, Imalion, and Moskus for your vigilant attempt to keep the forum tidy. I have the demo of FL and tried it out as a plug-in to HS yesterday. I couldn't get the multiple outs to work (assigning different channels to different tracks in HS) but I will try again today. FL is almost too...

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

How about if I disable ACPI mode? Worth a try? Any risks? _________________________________________________ A step for step of how to disable ACPI mode in Windows XP -by Andy Maddock/Cakewalk- 1) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager 2) Choose View >...

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

I've tried messing with the latency, and my CPU usage is always really low. Here's an interesting response I got when I posted to the Cakewalk forum a month ago: _________________________________________________ I have exactly the same problem. After much testing on different machines, there...

    HS2004xl looping dxi (Fruity/Sonar??)

I'm still having a problem with looping when I have a DXi synth track running. It will loop fine on the first run-through, but when I stop the song and then start again, I get a dropout at the end of the loop. I posted about this a month ago, and none of the suggestions (latency, buffers, pci...

    eBay.de: 'Air Guitar' for sale

I'd be careful with this one, there's no warranty. Also, I have one of these and they DO go out of tune occasionally, usually due to beer. Furthermore, "everybody can play like a pro" might be true, but what he doesn't mention is that it takes years of practice. Just my .02

    mackie pre vs. DMP3

Thanks, everybody, for your suggestions. I'm going to stick with what I have for several more sessions and really concentrate on mic placement and gain staging until I feel I've squeezed as much as possible out my current gear. I worked on it a bit yesterday and made some progress, I'm pretty...

    mackie pre vs. DMP3

Gidge and Chess: Please note that I wrote "Let's PRETEND I have mastered........." Pretend, as in I haven't fussed with mic placement all that much, my room acoustics probably suck, and, after 35 years, I still play like I'm wearing boxing gloves. I won't be able to post a clip anytime soon...
