Has anyone used/purchased any of these PA heads? They look very decent and well worth the price, but I'm not sure. I'm looking at the 6X which looks like quite a bargain for $450 (600 watts, 6 channels, digital effects).
Any more information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I have a BOSS BR-1180 CDR/W recording unit, and the built-in compression and effects are tight. However, I want clearer vocals. I was thinking of buying a small mixer with digital effects for like $100 to $200, but why when I can save money by running my mic through the PA into the RCA input of...
Wow, I don't know who you are buddy, and quite frankly, I don't care. I come here because I'm new to recording, and I want some help. Up until now, homerecording.com has been a polite and helpful environment, and I've learned a lot. But your need to argue is beyond me.
Now I don't want to...
Now that we've gotten off subject, might as well throw in my two cents.
Firstoff, even if you buy the argument that they're "better off" that way, you must remember that's not the reason the company does it. The company exploits people because of the bottom line. Profit. Not because they think...
I'll take that as a "yes."
I know they're decent from reading reviews on the internet, as well as the fact that a bass player I know has a cheap amp of their's and it works great.
Of course they wouldn't have a banner saying "We Use Sweatshop Labor" on their website, but there's usually some...
I was considering buying a EUROPOWER PMX2000 (http://www.behringer.com/PMX2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG) Pa-head, but after reading from some of the topics below, I'm not sure. First off, from what I've read, the quality is pretty decent, and very good for the price. But, like I said, there are some...
This is just a real general question.
For punk/rock music, using a PA-head, what level would you suggest having the Low/Mid/High on, and the the bandwidth frequencies as well, while using a standard microphone? Also, if someone was doing backing vocals with high-pitched lyrics, what would you...
This is not for recording, obviously, but for the purposes of practicing.
For band practice, I'm sick and tired of bringing my PA equiptment back and forth between places, so my question is: is it safe to run a microphone through a guitar amp? I have a cheap Peavey 30-watt I wish to achieve...
I've seen the specs, and I've read some reviews, but I still don't understand what it IS. Is it just a toy that makes a bunch of different sounds? Because then I don't undertsnad why it's so great.
How's it work?
I want to record a digital piano with my BOSS BR-1180 but aren't sure about the best way.
Should I use a mic to amp the speaker, or go line-in directly? Or, should I use line-in but a direct box as well? Also, is it possible to go straight in through midi (both have midi inputs, and if so, is...
Thanks. I'm leaning toward buying it. For a mic, shockmount and carrying case, you can't go wrong for $60, right?
Also, for $99 I'm looking at the Behringer B-1, but on musicgearreview some dude said he had both and said that all-around the MXL out-performs.
Is there a consensus for that, or...
Okay. Makes sense.
Another thing: If you're just going to keep center pan, it's pointless to use two tracks to record in stereo anyway, right? Or, will far-left and far-right pans on both tracks give more volume. (I'm wondering if taht's why my vocals appear too loud.)
I'm using the BOSS BR-1180 (maybe upgrading to the 1600...) to record, so I only really have 8 tracks to work with. So I was wondering, what instruments/tracks are good to bounce together to save space?
I was considering bouncing the rhythm and lead guitars together (in two-track stereo) which...
This is a really general, basic question, so bear with me here.
What would be the "typical" settings for PAN for your typical rock vocals, guitar, lead guitar, bass and drums recording?
For stereo, I panned my lead vocals far-left and far-right, but it seems too loud. For everything else, I...
With the BOSS BR-1600, there are 8 XRL inputs. Does that mean the only way to record guitar is through an adapter? Meaning, from quarter inch to male-end of XRL?
Also, if you built your own cables, would there be noticeable less quality?
What do you really NEED to produce semi-polished songs?
I'm a high school student on a very limited budget, preparing to go to college, and a father of one.
I'm dumping a lot a bunch of my extras, such as guitars and amps I don't need, and am selling my year-old BOSS BR-1180 as well.
I plan...
