I have record several songs with Cubase VST 5.0. I tried to organize such that all the .WAV (all audio, no midi) files for a certain song were in the same file however, some where along the line I messed up. Now all the files are spread out in different subdirectories, this is especially...
What is the best way to punch in on Cubase Vst if I am recording Analog? I get a pop when I try to just press record. Should I use the locators? If so, I thought they were used only for Midi.
Thanks

I am recording through a Delta 44 audio card into Cubase VST. Currently I am hearing a unwanted high pitch noise through the output of cubase. For instance, when recording drums, I am recording through 4 mikes into an analog mixer into the Delta 44 and Cubase. Out of the Mixer the drums sound...
I am using a Behringer (I don't know what model). We tried taking the base mike into the mixer and liked it a lot more, however, I still don't understand why the bass needs a signal boost. Is it the nature of the instrument?
What is a direct box used for?
Thanks for the reply

Ahhh!!!
That makes more sense. That was basically my problem. I got done with a song and was like WTF, there was a ton of files.
I ended up starting a new song and importing the good takes of the song I recorded. However, what you mentioned sounds like the write idea.
Thank you
Courtney
When you have recorded something you usually try to match levels during mixdown, right? Why do you need to master?
Is it because you need to apply mechanisms like compression to keep the levels matched?
I have recorded at several studios but have never mastered. As a consequence my recordings...
I am trying to record my band with Cubase VST, an 8 channel mixer and a Delta 44 (4in, 4out) audio card. Here are our problems:
1.) We are limited to recording at my friends office. We tried recording in different rooms but were unhappy. The drums sound uninteresting and there was to much...
I want to record my bands album with Cubase. I am confused on how Cubase VST 5 saves my files. What is a song? What is an arrangement. How do I record multiple songs (I mean literal songs) and keep the same mixer settings.
Thanks
Courtney
I just bought a Delta 410 because I thought it had 4 analog inputs. I know no that it has two analog inputs and 2 S/PDIF inputs. If I want to record drums through a mixer on the two analog inputs, what can I do for guitar and bass (through mics) on the S/PDIF? Anything? How cheap can I go...
What is the "Line In" on a typical sound card, for instance a Creative Labs X Gamer? Can I use it for recording? If not, what kind of Sound Card should I buy for recording if I want to stay below $200 dollars?
Thanks
