Can't figure out where to start:

BEST BET There are many mini cassette recorders that are unobtrusive and very good at recording. The sony line comes into mind. THey are sound activated with a very clean anti hiss mech. You can tuck it in your pocket and no one will be the wiser. Sound clean up can be done by porting into...

    saving as wav

CuBASED By the way...I am completely cubased out. I tried Sonic...I didn't like it at all. SX Cubase rocks. I have total contol over the sound and its relative mix. Maybe I can get the same in SOnic but I couldnt even record a track in sonic and have 16 tracks mixed with effects in cubase.

    saving as wav

Thanks What I figured out was that SX was dependent on what the time signiture was. It used it to decide what it would copy...Some how the time signiture had set itself to 3 seconds before end. Resulting in a very small file with no sound. An oversight by this newbie.

    ...I'm a computer dummy but...

Trellix + MSN I think trellix is proprietary to MSN. I dont think it was meant to be used with any other services. Trellix is full of ads too isnt it? Last I saw it was. Getting a real host site is cheap enough. I have free space with verizon too but didnt use it in favor of no ads. I used...

    *%$#

Sounds like Motherboard problems I would go to the motherboard site and download the latest patch. Sounds like a PCI Bus mastering problem. A download of the latest for that make of board should solve that.

    PC based vs. Standalone

Im with Phyl Im in total agreement with Phyl. I prefer to do my recording on a standalone and then importing my tracks to cubase. Sometimes I will use outboard effects sometimes I use what addons I have for cubase. Depends on my mood and the sound I am trying to achieve. There is nothing...

Is a new RAM the only thing I need?

Popping sucks! For starters DMA choice is heirarchal. SO you would want the DMA set to 1. It starts with 1 by priority and works up. So the lower the number the better. The problem with Win98 is that it wasnt really ready to do PCI. It has a half baked PCI steering method that may give...

Hammerfall sound card but no midi

Sound Blaster It sounds to me... and correct me if I am wrong. But the Sound Blaster is not a PCI right? Using a legacy sound card as you might remember can be a tough thing to do. You will have to set the IRq and DMA channel on it to get it to work. Usually they dont have much room to play...

    'Beginner' Soundcards For Under $300

Sound Cards You will find that most people are bypassing the sound card completely and using USB to import wave files directly to the drive. The sound card comes into play only for the listening of the tracks during and after mixdown. However that said. The audigy is geared to gameplay and...

Resizing of windows I assume you are using XP. If not it should be similar to fix just found in a different place. Your program windows are going back to a formerly saved setting. In XP you can look in control panel under folder options on the view tab. Down by the bottom there is a box you...

help me please!!!! with computer recording problems

Overloaded! If your system resources are at 57% you should look at what is running while you are trying to record. It sounds to me like you have lots of stuff running in the background. When recording tracks you should always exit out of every application that you wont be using. That...

    2nd Post

Good Intro Save the intro. It shows a confidence in the song as a whole. I liked the song. I would probably redo the guitar track and make it a little tighter. But none the less, a good compilation. The vocals are a tiny bit muddy and indicernable but if that is what you were going for...
