is that the thing made by yamaha i think it was? i was kind of curious too...and how would you set something like that up? i was looking at it on sweetwater and i was completely baffled.
they're a little pricey for what i need unfortunately. but i would definitely consider upgrading to them one day. do you think they're that important that i should get them right away rather than upgrade to them in the future?
and what would i use a room mic for? (sorry im pretty new to this game)
you're right.
i already own 3 sm57s and an at4040.
mostly being recorded is rock music, heavy drums.
i'm looking to spend max of $200 per overhead microphone, and less than $150 per tom mic. bass drum mic $400 or less.
i will be purchasing an e609 within the week also.
suggestions for best drums mics?
snare - sm57?
toms - shure, beyerdynamic, sennheiser?
bass drum - ev re20, akg, shure?
overheads - r0de, akg, beyerdynamic?
im looking to be cost effective! please any responses would be much appreciated. my best thoughts on the subject are this:
snare i...
yes, you can't simply plug the audio cables into the computer and have it work. it needs midi to send information signals to reason, not audio signals.
well i KNOW its not my amp. its a mesa boogie dual rectifier half stack, completely using monster gold cables. i'm a pro when it comes to my amp and my guitar (gibson les paul).
but as big kenny said, it could just be my technique. i haven't been in this game very long and i don't have much to...
well the biggest problem i'm having is hearing palm muting clearly. whenever i palm mute, it gets very muffled and unclear. i'm hoping that the 609 will fix this to a point.
any comments on this?
that's interesting. i've been doing a lot of research on the topic of the best mic for a guitar amp, and no one has mentioned an nd468, d770, or nd757. why do you mention those?
try a pair of rode nt5's, im not sure if that's too expensive for what you're looking for, but they're great for the money.
or just to be tricky, try the nt4!
a lot of people seem to use it for far micing a guitar cab. what's the advantage of useing this is a far mic? my experience with condensers on a cab is that the amp completely overpowers the mic.
i have the the 4040, and i've never had this problem. i use the 4050 in school all the time and i've never encountered such a problem. i wish i could be of some more help :(
am i correct in saying that the SP B1 goes for about $99? i don't know much of anything about these mics, but usually when i see a condenser for less than 100 i wouldn't even consider adding it to me arsenal.
so i guess what im coming down to, is what makes this mic so good? what are its best...
